My sunday

Today I have been feeling like this. So my plans about having a big sewing weekend just did not work. Just a little bit stitching on my Butterfly Garden and............

...... I manage to finish my PIF gifts. I am so happy that they are now wrapped and ready to be posted to Jeanette, May Kristin and Belem. Hope you will like what I have made for you. Can tell you this much that it is something for a quilter LOL And I am still waiting for my PIF so it's not only me that are late :)

And my first surprise for my Stitchers' Angel friend is also wrapped and ready to be posted. I can't show you anything yet of what it is in case she is visiting my blog. I do not want to reveal myself before she gets the last package from me. But I've rememebered to take photo of it.

Tomorrow it's my week to show you the pattern I have designed for you in Stitchers' Angels.
So please come back tomorrow and have a look.

And don't forget to look for the clues in The Stitchers' Angels Treasure Hunt.

Goodies in the mail

Today I went to the postoffice and got the package from Spaine. It was fun to read the adress on it. I live in Elverum and they had addressed it El Verun :) I imagine living at such a place as El Verun must be very sunny and warm. And when I came home from visiting my mom another package was in my mailbox.
So I rushed inside to see what was in the packages.

The first I opened was from my dear friend Nancy. She have been in Birmingham, but had bought me a thimble from Holland because their flight was by Amsterdam. And I also got some beutiful fabrics as a prize from her 100th post blogiversary.
And look at this card she sent me. I LOVE IT. "Life is nothing without friendship" it says. I guess Nancy have thought about me and her looking like this in some years.

And then there was time to open the package from Spaine. Four small wrapped gifts was inside the envelope.
And look at this cute keychain made from tiny hexagons made by Teresa L Sako. And the cute passportholder made of Ana Serrano. Perhaps it's a sign I ought to go there :) I wish I could. In the package it was also a lot of wonderful ribbons, laces and beads.
I love all the things mention above, but when I opened the package with these two wonderful pictures the tears came. I LOVE THEM. These are made by Ana Maria. She have sewed a tiny house and a tiny tree, these are then framed by paper I guess she have made by herself. And in the paper it is added dry flowers and straw. They are both so beautiful. I will buy some frames on monday, and I know exactly where to hang them.

Thank you girls for giving me these wonderful gifts because of my two years blogiversary in august. I feel so honored. And your place is now on my "want-to-go-some-day list". Big hug from me to you all.

WOW....this has been such a hectic week. Both at work and at home. So I really need this weekend to relax now, and hopefully get some sewing done.

Today after work I stopped by the quiltshop, as I always does on fridays because they have a long opening at the shop. On other days the shop is closed when I'm off work. Perhaps that's good for my wallet LOL. Today when I came by Irene at the shop told me she had something to show me............ and she laughed..........she probably knew I was going to fall for this ....... and she asked me if I could make a sample.

Look how cute these photos are. I'm going to iron them on line and make a bag of it. And of course I have to add som old lace, some cute buttons and perhaps some ric rac. And perhaps I make a workshop of it if I'm satisfied with the result. I'll start tomorrow after visiting my mother.

This evening I've just relaxed and stitched on my fourth block of Butterfly Garden. And almost falling asleep in front of the tv. I have lit some candles because it's very dark outside now. The autumn is coming very fast now. Just a few warm degrees during the night, but lovely warm sun in daytime.

And tomorrow I have to go to the postoffice to collect a package. Got a note in the mailbox today that a package from Spane had arrived. Wonder what it is.

Stitchers' Angels - Treasure hunt

Already week two of the Stitchers' Angels projects. Now you have the pattern of Helens beautiful armchair caddy. And this week Natalie Lymer (Cinderberry Stitches) georgius bag.

And next week it's my project for you :) I look forward to show it to you.

Have you started something for your Stitchers' Angel friend yet? I have finished one and will try to make another this weekend. And hope to post the first surprise for her next week.

And to make this more fun, Helen has arranged a treasure hunt with some prizes.

You need to keep an eye out on the 7 designers' blogs for clues. They will be posted random at any time so my suggestion so as not to miss out on a clue is to bookmark each blog, add them to your bloglines or subscribe to their feeds. You find the designers blogs in my sidebar.
You need to collect all of the clues and at the end when you have them all you will have the answer to the treasure question. And when Helen ask you for the answer you have to mail it to her.

I know where to put my clues (yes there will be more than one) some time during the next weeks. And I think you know where to find them. I promise I will make it easy for you.

At the cabin

Home again after a long weekend at the cabin. Bags are unpacked, blogs and mails are read. We have had some great days together.Every time we go to these sewing together weekends we have had wonderful weather. This time too. Rain during the night, but sun in daytime. So we have spendt a lot of time outside stitching.

And long walks in the woods. Look what we found. The mountain cranberries (tyttebær in norwegian) was ready to be picked.

And so we did.

A big bowle filled with these delicious red berries.

And now we could make my favorite dessert Trollcream. You just wipe the white of the egg together with suger very stiff and then add the red berries.

Yummy yummy yummy

and look at the wonderful pink colour!!

Ready to eat. Have to admit I ate toooooooooo much.

Not only dessert, but also these delicious cake.

Did we sew anything this weekend

take a look......

Every one of us had brought a lot of projects. Some ufo's, some new projects, a lot of fabric, patterns and books. So there was plenty of work for everyone. This is what we had for show and tell right before leaving the cabin.

And this was my projects for the weekend.
Finished the stitching on one of the cupcake wallhangings.
Started two small purses from a japaneese book.

And almost finished four of these thread bins with pincushions. Just have to fill birdsand in the pincushions.

Feel I have been very lazy this long weekend. Just eating, sleeping, laughing and a little bit of sewing. But think that was good for my neck which is feeling much better now. Time together with good quilt friends is great.

Starting tomorrow to do some serious cleaning up in my sewingroom LOL Now it's just a mess.

Our yearly trip to the cabin

The sewingmachine is in the car. A big suitcase filled with fabric, patterns, thread, books and other sewing stuff is also in the car. Probably filled with too much, but what if.......... you know. Better bring too much than too little. A good book to read if I want some rest from the sewing. And a lot of smiles for my friends that I'm going to meet.

This is our annual trip to the cabin. If you're a regular reader of my blog you probably remember posts about these trips before. These trips started several years ago (ten I think)
and in the beginning we went to the cabin on saturday morning and back home on sunday. After some years we started on friday evening, then on thursday evening, and this time we go to the cabin on wednesday evening. We so enjoy these quilt trips to the cabin so we starts earlier and earlier each year.

Promise to bring my camera and take some photos of our projects this weekend

Happy stitching while I'm away!!

Quilt medicine

I felt so lonely this weekend. Just me and Frida cat. My DD is doing great up in Trondheim and starts school tomorrow. So what do you do when feeling lonely................. you go into the sewingroom and starts sewing. That is medicine........quilt medicine.

I have got the name of the girl I'm sending a christmasgift to in the SSCS. I have visited her blog and I thought this might be the perfect gift for her. I know she loves cupcakes. LOL......and after reading a lot of blogs I know she is not the only that's not a safe clue who it might be LOL LOL. Stina had made a lovely cupcake wallhanging some time ago, and I knew I had this Tilda book. So yesterday I started tracing cupcakes, writing some text and made these wallhangings. One for my SSCS partner and one for myself. I liked it so much so I just had to make one for myself. Now I can enjoy stitching the text and do the applique. Nice work in front of the tv.
Todays work was framing my angel blocks. I had a sewing together with Stina on msn and we had to report our progress to eachother several times during the day. I was crawling around on the floor playing with different fabrics. Hoping I had enough to both frame the blocks and making squares to fill between the blocks. I had to add som extra fabrics, but they are so similar in colour so I think it will match well.
And this is how far I got today. All my blocks are framed. Now starts the progress with rotary cutting all the squares. I know Stina have finished her top today so visit her blog and take a look at hers.
Do your sewing room get this messy while working on a project???

I always try to keep it in order while working, but when you get so eager rotarycutting, finding fabrics and sewing, the intentions keeping it tidy just doesn't work LOL Okei....perhaps I clean up tomorrow.
Saying for today:

Another giveaway and back home.....alone

Carla is giving away a beautiful scarf here. And I really want this because my neck is hurting so much now.....need something warm and nice to put around it :) My neck got like this after driving the car to Trondheim and back home (5 hours driving each way). My DD has moved there to study photo for 2 years, and I helped her moving her things, hanging up curtains, shopping at Ikea (have I told you I hate going to IKEA) putting together furniture (and I only got a few spare screws LOL). I know she is going to have a great time in Trondheim because most of her friends from back home is studying there too, and it is a great city to live in.

It was very special coming back home to an empty house. Just Frida cat saying meooow to me when I came home. But that's life, the children has to move out of the house and settle down for themselves. And when I know they are doing great, I am happy for them.

On our way up to Trondheim we had a little stop at Tynset where Anne Heidi has her shop Lappemor.

This was my first visit to her shop, and I know it will not be the last one. A cosy little quiltshop with a lot of samples hanging on the walls.Did not buy that much this time. Just a green fabric fr my Joy of Life project, some ric-rac and a big jar of white buttons. I was so happy when I found it in her display and she told me that I could buy it. Look at all those beautiful buttons SMILE (I have borrowed this photo from you Anne Heidi, hope it is ok)
And when I came home these books was waiting for me. Ordered from Bookdepository. Very fast delivery and they have Free Worldwide Delivery.

This weekend I am going to enjoy these books, relaxing, watching tv (old movies) and SEW. Just spend some days in my sewingroom.

Donna have sendt me the name of my swap partner in the SSCS. I am so thrilled that it is this girl. She has a very inspiring blog that I visit often. And I think I know what to make for her.
Perhaps I will start her christmaspresent this weekend. And I promise you a lot of sneakpeak of it............just to tease you all :) Wonder who my secret santa is??? Do you visit my blog and comment?? Are you a new blogger to me or do I know you??? It is so fun doing secret swaps.

BTW Donna is having her birthday today so visit her blog and say Happy Birthday. She deserves it because she is such a nice girl administrating this SSCS for us.
