Now it is sept 30th and the clock is 2245. I am putting the last pins in the Angel Story book quilt. Deadline for Stinas Angel Story book club is finishing the top before oct 1st (tomorrow)

Tadaaaaaa......The top is done..........the clock is 23:10. I made it.

The top is finished.

Thank you Stina for pushing me so to finish this top. Now I have 3 months to finish the quilting.

I have celebrated my birthday sewing with a glass of white wine. A perfect day with a lot of phones and mails from good friends.

Saying for today:

A birthday is just the first day of
another 365-day journey around the sun.
Enjoy the trip.

Be careful

Be careful with your rotary cutter. This is a photo my friend Bjørg (no blogger) mailed me this morning. Poor girl........trying to finish her Angel story book top before deadline tomorrow. And ended up with this huge bandage on her finger.

She says the moral is: Keep your finger ON the ruler and not outside it when you rotary cut.

Angel Story Book sewing

I am a memeber of Stinas Angel Story book club and the deadline for finishing the top is approaching very fast. I have until oct 1st to finish it. And Stina is pushing me to finish it. And today I had decided to spend all my day working on the top. So the first thing I did this morning was to find all the blocks and fabrics.
After breakfast I started to rotarycut all the squares that should go between all the blocks.

And I started to puzzle...

Here is the first 1/4 part of the top sewed together.

I really like the result so far.

And the quilt started to grow.......

And grow...........

And grow.............ooooopss................this is photos from my walk today.

Had to get som fresh air, and the sun shined so beautiful. And on my walk in the forest I took some photos of these mushrooms.

Back home I continued sewing the top together.

And now it's almost done. 3/4 are sewed together. The last part is just partly sewed together. But now it's late and I think I call it a night. But I think I will manage to finish it before deadline. Tomorrow I am teaching a workshop after work, but I got tuesday evening to sew the rest together.

My friend Bjørg (no blogger) is also working on the Angel Story Book. She hoped to finish the top before the deadline, but while rotarycutting the frames for the blocks she had a little accident. The rotarycutter was too sharp, and her finger was to close to it. So she had to go to the hospital to have a look at it. And came home with a huge bandage on her finger.

So let this be a warning. Be careful with your rotarycutter.

And even more bags and Stitchers Angels

It has been so fun watchin you girls making bags from my pattern. And so many of you are doing your version of the bag...............love it!!!! So here is some more photos of bags I found on the net, or had photos emailed to me.
Thanks for sewing from my pattern, it has been a great experience making a pattern in english. Maybe I do it again.
So let us see:
I found this romantic version on Enigmas blog.

Sheila in Mulgrave (australia) made it in blue.

Rhonda from Doxies on my quilt made this.

Lena Karen from Hønefoss (norway) made this.

Look how ?? from Embroideroo have made french knots in the angel wings. Love it.

Debbie at Makin' Quilts have appliqued the angel instead of stitchery. Love it.

Look at the cute ric-rac Ros aka Bloom have used on her stitchers angel sewing bag.
And she has also put handles on it. Very nice :)

Daisy Jane from Australia made this. Cute cords in different colours.

Day-Days blog from Australia made this one

Saterday evening and pizza in the oven. Red wine in my glass. Not a single stitch has been done these last days. So I hope this evening that I can be able to relax in front of tv with some
Perhaps work on my last present for my Stitchers Angel. I have posted her one package already and I know she has received it and wonders who I am. All I can say is that she has a blog I do not understand a single word of LOL But I have used google translater and get some funny translations.
And I wonder so much who my secret angel is. Not a package or a clue so far LOL SMILE
And I got tomorrow to finish my angel quilt before the deadline okt 1st.
Stina, I'll try to do my best tomorrow!!!!

Beautiful fabrics

Today at the local quiltshop (which is MY favorite quiltshop of all)
not one bolt..........
not ten bolts....................
HUNDREDS of new bolts of beautiful fabrics.
Beautiful colours

As a volunteer some of us helped preparing the fabric into 30 cm's and to find a place to store them in the shop. This is my friend Britt making 30 cm's. She teared the fabric and I folded it.

And just look at these wonderful fabrics

These are just some of the wonderful
fabrics that has arrived the shop.
My eyes is shopping
my wallet is crying
nothing has come home with me

Tea pouch

I am so happy :) Look at this cute tea cup pouch Anne Sofi at Käranån sendt me. I LOVE IT!!!
It was waiting for me when I came home from the workshop yesterday.

And inside the pouch there were a lot of tea bags with name like: Wisdom of stay, Cherry rainy day, Carribean Sun (which tasted delicious) and Faithful friend. What wonderful name on the tea :)

I have seen these beautiful pouches on a lot of blogs and wanted to make one, but now I don't need to do that because Anne Sofi was so kind to send me one. Thank you so much Anne Sofi. I treasure it and will carry it with me in my purse.

Workshop with Solveig Refslund

Wondered why I have been so quiet some days. I have been at a workshop with Solvejg Refslund as teacher. She is a wonderful person and it was so fun to work on something totally new for me. Want to see.......??

We started with a black and white portrait of ourself......just the head. And that was what we should work with. Our workspace................on the table............on the floor...........out in the hall......everywhere....................I guess you all recognize this
and this way to work on LOL
My face is now taking shape.
And what a mess we made. Fabric all over the floor and on the tables.
Marit is asking if I think it looks like her.

And at the end of our two days workshop all portraits where hung up on the wall and all the ladies was eagerly taking photos.

And this is how we look like in fabric.

And this is our teacher Solvejg Refslund.

And this is how I look like . It is not finished. Have to add some more details. But I am very happy with the result. It looks like I am thinking of something.

it will be known by the look on your face

Goodies in mail

Yesterday when I came home from work there was not one package in my mailbox, there was three + our norwegian quiltmagazine.

I had to rush inside and open them and look..................

I am so happy to have received one of the baskets Darlene had made some days ago. Yoooohooooo......I love it.

And from Homespun magazine I received................. a Homespun magazine of course. And why did they send me this issue :)

Because in one of the articles in this magazine they have used my photos of the pincushions we showed at NQF annual guild meeting. See the photos at the top of the side. I was so surprised when I got mail from the editor who asked me if they could borrow my photos. I feel so honored :)
And in the last package it was a prize from Viktoria from USA. I was one of several winners of her giveaway and this is what she sendt me. Thank you Viktoria. I don't have your email, and sorry I don't remember which blog you have. So this is my thanks for the goodies.

Now I have three quilt magazines to read :)

And this came in the mail some days ago. Some fabric I have ordered. I just had to because it is sooooooooooo cute. Look at the mushrooms :) Maybe something for the polkadot and ric-rac swap????

Saying for today:

May your day bubble over with love
