Saturday goodies

Look what the mailman brought me today. A new quiltbook. I saw this on another blog some days ago and just had to order it. And there is sooooooooooooooooooooo much beautiful quilts here. And they all measures just 16x20 inch so they have a perfect size for my house.

And I have been sewing on my basktets the last days. They are addictive :)
Saying for today:

but by family and friends
and the joys they bring.

Bente Vold Klausen

Bente Vold Klausen is showing her quilts here in Elverum , and I was at the opening today. She allowed me to take photos to show here in my blog. But I recomend to come and see her exhibition here at Nysted in Elverum if you can. All the details on the quilts cannot be showed here at photos, you have to see it yourself. I know I will come back to study these quilts more. This exhibition is at the same place we had ours last weekend. Enjoy the photos.

September quiltmeeting

Yesterday it was september meeting in my quiltgroup. And this is what was on show and tell.

A beautiful quilt of hearts
and this is the back of the same quilt.

This is a crochet hexagon "quilt"

And a closeup of her hexagons. Beautiful.

A cute childrens quilt

This lady have enlarged some stitcheries from Northern Quilts and made her own wallhanging.
Some enjoyed sewing down bindings.

And some enjoyed doing some embroidery on a tablerunner.
My quiltgroup has now their own blog

An old WISP

Loooooooooooong time ago (hundred years) I bought this Jinny Beyer kit called Trip Around The World. My friend Irene (no blog) wanted us to start sewing on this project again and I agreed. But I thought I had done more on it. Just lesson one and two was done.

So we started all over again with this WISP. Irene has done a lot more on her kit so she started to draw the pieces for lesson six. And I was glad I found all pieces for lesson three precut in my box.

But I hate sewing on paper.

Irene cutting more fabric for her pieces.
And me sewing on my pieces.
Did I mention I hate sewing on paper.

But I manage to finish 8 of 16 rows this evening.
Irene and I had a creative evening in my sewingroom.
And now we both have homework to do until next time we meets.

Saying for today:
Sisters share
the memories of yesterday,
the joys of today,
and the hopes of tomorrow.

Elverum quiltguild's 10th anniversary

My quiltgroup is celebrating their 10th anniversary and are having a big members exhibition this weekend. I have been there with my camara so just go get a cup of coffee or tea and enjoy.

This is my two friends Laila and Lisbeth sitting in front of the two lottery quilts.

I am so proud of being a member of this quilt guild. Such talented ladies. And this is just a small part of what I know have been made.
Saying for today:
Friendship is sewn with love
and measured with kindness
