Vitamin Q weekend

Thursday evening, directly from the quilt meeting, I and Irene drove up to the cabin where four other friends was waiting for us to arrive. As usual a lot of boxes, bags and the sewingmachine had been packed. Think I had brought enough projects to stay away from home for a whole month. We always brings a lot of projects......just in case LOL

Daytime I was sewing blocks for Svennebrevet , and manage to sew a lot of blocks. And in the evening I was stitching on more blocks for My Garden.

I am sewing on two quilts. One in brown/blue and one in pink/red/white. And you see a lot of blocks was done this weekend. Still several blocks to sew :)

Teamwork making dinner.

We have to find a place for both sewing, cutting and ironing.
Every inch of the cabin is in use.

Mette was quilting on her beautiful Tailfeather quilt.

Aud is handquilting on her Trip around the world quilt.

Irene sewed a lot on her summer quilt.

And this fellow came for a visit friday evening. I guess she was curious about all the laughter and sewingmachine noise.

Now I am back home. This has been a great weekend together with wonderful friends. And a lot of vitamin Q.

Summer party in my Quilt group

Thursday it was the traditional summerparty in my quilt group

a lot of ladies came this evening

and as usual good food on the meny

it tasted sooooo good :)

And then there was time for some Show and Tell.
Enjoy.

When this meeting was ended, Irene (no blogger) and I drove directly to the cabin, where four other ladies waited for us to come. A weekend together just sewing, chatting and having fun.

Yummy

This looks good doesn't it :)
Fresh fabric from the quilt shop

Two of my friends visited Kathrines Quiltestue today,
and brought home a package of fabric that I had ordered.
I guess a lot of people who knows me are going to be chocked now
about I sewing with blue fabric

but it is added with a lot of brown

and I will add some of my own fabrics like these light and pink ones

and perhaps some of these .

So I guess you understand a new projects is being planned,
but I will not start sewing this until autumn starts
have made a deal with Bjørg about that

More prepping

Instead of going back into my sewingroom to tidy upp my mess
I went back and.....

did som more prepping.
This time I pulled out the My Garden BOM.
Two blocks is almost done, seven left to sew.
So I traced the stitchery and the applique,
and now I am stitching on one of the blocks.

My sewingroom is still messy LOL

A creative weekend

They say a mess in the sewingroom is a sign on creativity
so does this mean I have been doing a lot this weekend??

I have been rotary cutting fabric all weekend
to prepare blocks for Svennebrevet
Not just one but two quilts.

one in beige/brown/blue

and one romantic in red/pink/white

and it feels so good looking at all the prepared blocks laying there in their ziplock plasticbags ready to be sewed. Now I will relax with some stitchery and watch a good movie....
og perhaps I should go back into the sewing room and clean up my mess LOL

Mai 17.th

This is the childrens parade coming outside the old nursing home where my mother lives. After a rainy morning, the sun came just in time for the parade.

And this is my mother together with my brothers two grand children. We have had a wonderful day. But I was missing my two children. DS celebrating in Oslo and DD in Trondheim. Now off with my bunad, feet up on the stool and some stitching while watching tv.

Gratulerer med dagen Norge /Happy birthday Norway

May 17th is the Norwegian Constitution Day and today we are all celebrating it with dressing in our bunader (national costums), waving our flags and goes in the childrens parade.

This is a borrowed photo which shows the celebration in Oslo. My DS lives in Oslo and my DD lives right now in Trondheim, so they will celebrate at their places. I will soon dress in my bunad and drive down to visit my mother and celebrate the day at her place.

Gratulerer med dagen!

Happy birthday Norway!

Friends on the porch

Yesterday I had quilting friends over for a small dinner party

And afterwards coffee and cake out on the porch

After having cold weather and even snow some days ago, the temperature got so nice so we was able to sit outside and have our coffee
And guess who got spoiled
