What’s on my design wall

……I mean on my design doors.  I do not have a big enough wall so I can put up a design wall, so I use the doors and some tape to hang the projects up.

002

This is one of the projects the project I am working on at the moment.  It was a secret project in the beginning, but now I can show you.  As you all see it is my version of Gail Pan’s Winter Blooms.  I am making Summer Blooms.

Why it has been a secret?  Just had to get it confirmed that I am meeting Gail Pan and Helen Stubbings when they are coming to Tønsberg in the end of March.   I am so doing my happy dance right now.  They are coming to Quiltefryd in Tønsberg and I am going together with three good quilting friends  to both the inspiration evening and joining tuesdays workshop.  So now this quilt will be given focus, so I can show at least the finished top when I meet Gail.

One finish january OPAM

028

With a good helping claw I manage to finish this tablerunner today.  So I got one finish for january OPAM.

Action in the sewingroom

014

Remember these pinmoore I bought thursday? Today I wanted to try them out so I basted my tablerunner with them and was going to start quilting it. But then another guy took fancy in them.

006

Mom….have you bought me a new toy??

001

Do you neet some help with the quilting today??

004

Not???

010

I waaaaaaaaaaaaaaant to play with them!!!

011

If I can’t play with them, neither shall you mom.

015

It is so funny playing with these.

017

And even if you hide them here on the ironing table, I can smell where they are LOL

*****************

So I think I have to give up quilting today. Or perhaps I have to look the door to my sewingroom while doing it. But not any fun having Rusken outside scratching on the door to get in. Because he is so stubborn and he really wants these pinmoors.

January 2012 quiltmeeting

Yesterday it was the first quiltmeeting in 2012.  A lot of ladies came, shopped. laughed and had show and tell.

Lappemor from Tynset came with a selection from her shop.  Of course we bought a lot LOL

Anne Heidi showed us how to use Pinmoor to baste our quilts.

And then there was show and tell……..just enjoy Smilefjes

And did I buy something………oh yes.  Really needed some refill with fabric right now.  Long time since I visited a quiltshop.

036

Hanne have given me a challenge to buy the fabric my stash is lacking.   I have to many “similar” fabrics and too many fabrics with flowers.  Did I do well this time Hanne?

037

Because when I opened the bundle of fabric (it was on sale half the price, so I just had to) you can see there are not the kind of flowerfabrics I usually buys LOL

Hoping for a finish in OPAM

January is soon gone, and I realized I have no finish for OPAM this month.  Oh yes……..I am joining OPAM this year too.  It makes me keep my goal with at least one finish each month.

opam2012

Together with Kris, she and I started the One Project A Month in 2009, and never did we believe so many wanted to join us and that SO many finishes should be done.  Now Kris is hosting it together with Peg and I I am so happy they are willing to do it.

001

So this evening I glue basted a tablerunner and a small quilt.  Hoping I will manage to finish at least one of them before february comes.

Love my new quilt books

001

I just love my new books.

Hanne helped me order the Yoko Saito book directly from Japan.  And the two other ones I order myself from capris.no

So much inspiration, so little time.

Creative weekend

Elvis has left the building…..eh I mean Hanne has just left the building.  We have had a creative sewing weekend.

001

With a good helping claw checking out the progress on our projects.

019

He is really a great supervisor, and when there is no space on the sewingtable (wonder why, perhaps too much fabrics and rotarycutting), why not go up the shelf to keep an eye on what we was doing.

011

Hanne is testing on me a new workshop she is going to teach.  And look, I am working with blue fabrics.

012

Or perhaps they are not really blue, but more greyblue, and those colours I can accept working with and love.

013

Starting a new project makes a lot of mess in my sewing room.  Looking for the perfect backgrounds is not easy, so one by one the light fabrics where pulled out of the drawer.

014

And finally it got the look I wanted.

017

Hanne was also working on new models for her workshop.  I recomend everyone in Norway to book her for this workshop,  it was SO fun, and she has a lot of great ideas and tricks to show.

023

Do you remeber the secret project I started to work on.  I did sew a few blocks, but when looking at them on the design wall, I did not like them at all.  I got angry looking at them.

024

But thanks to Hannes advice I changed some a lot of fabrics and got a whole new look . Unpicked some pieces of the appliqued blocks and kept some of the fabrics on them. And it works.

018

Now making pizza and then som relaxing applique while watching tv.  This has been a great weekend filled with vitamin Q.
