Tulips

I stayed home from work today and visited the doctor. I got a bad sinusitis she told me (as I did not knew that already) and I got antibiotics. Perhaps thats why I have been so tired the last week. I have had this for almost one and a half week now. I know I should have seen the doctor earlier, but.........

So I went in to my sewingroom to look for some quiltmagazines. And look what I found instead. My tulip table cloth. Hidden in a box. I started on this last spring, but did not finish it. And I think it was because it got too short for my table. So now I started to cut off one end.

And I added two more rows. Luckily I had pieces left from the background fabric.
I appliqued more tulips on it and voila.... it's ready to be basted and quilted tomorrow (or this weekend). I have not yet decided if I want to handquilt it or quilt it by machine. And I think the binding will be a mix of yellow and orange fabrics.

Tulips are one of my favorite flowers and I want to finish this table cloth now. It will look nice on my table when spring now is coming. And I will feel good because a UFO/WISP is done!!!!!

Quilt saying for today:

Asking a quilter to mend is like
asking Picasso to paint your garage!

You are such a fast worker! The tulip cloth is lovely. I also like your quilt saying for today--my family can never understand why mending doesn't get done around here!
LOL!

I'm so glad you fixed this so you could finish it and use it. It's so pretty - and full of the promise of spring.

Sorry you are feeling so lousy - at least now you should start to feel better.

Love your saying!

Feel better. Those infections can just hang on and on if not treated soon enough AND make you feel so drained. I love your tulips.
They are my favorite too. White and cream ones were my wedding flowers :o)

I too have had a sinusitis for a few days so I understand. This is a great time of year to be finishing the tulips project. I hope you are feeling better. :)

The tulip quilt looks great. I won't show it my mother as she really is crazy about quilts. Here quilts are less expensive than in the east of the Netherlands where my parents live, so I got her a very big bouquet of tulips last weekend.

Great, great "fix" - it's truly adorable.

Tulips are my favorite flowers, as well. While we were living in Germany, many, many years ago we had the opportunity to visit a HUGE tulip farm in the Netherlands. I couldn't believe all the different colors of tulips - I was in AWE and have been since then. Yours on your tablerunner are soooooo pretty, May Britt.

Hope you get to feeling better soon with the treatment you have started. Those sinuses are a royal pain sometimes. Ask me how I know. They are warning us here in Alabama that tree pollen will be starting in early this year. We have 5 varieties of trees that are big culprits.

Lovely tulip cloth that is sure to brighten things up and think spring.

I keep telling my husband that quilters do not do buttons or iron so your quote of the day is spot on.

Lovely table runner May Britt. I wise choice to make it longer.
Speedy recovery to you !

My neighbours used to think I would do cloth altering and making curtains for them. No Way.
Mending isn't so bad though, for the household that is.

What a pretty table runner! I might have to borrow this idea. Can't wait to see the finished product!

Did you know that Kim at peachquilting.com has a new fabric diet badge that updates each month now rather than you having to change it? Go check it out!

I love those tulips! We used to go to a garden where they grew them for export, in New Zealand's South Island. At the end of the season, you could go & pick buckets full for a very cheap cost. The looked so beautiful.
Feel better soon!

Ohhh, that tulip cloth is just gorgeous! I love it! I hope you feel better soon, I used to get sinus infections all the time before I had a surgery to fix my sinuses. It can be just so wearing. I'm sending big hugs your way.
