Stitchers Angel and a giveaway

My Stitchers Angel have received all her gifts from me now and finally I can show you what I sendt her.
The first package was a pincushion and some buttons. Just to tell her that this was the first package and there would be more to come later. To hide who sendt it I changed my adress to my DS that lives in Oslo :)

And the last package was some chocolate from Norway, a stitchery with thread (so she can make it herself), needles and of course the sewing bag. My Stitchers Angel friends was Sandra from Italy. And as she has a blog in italian I do not understand a word of what she is writing LOL
This have been a fun project. Making several things for my Stitchers Angel. And visit other blogs to see what they have made and received. So thank you Helen for starting this Stitchers Angel swap. I am so glad I joined it.
But still.............I'm wondering who my Stitchers Angel is. Not a singel clue yet LOL LOL
By the way............
Helen is having a giveaway with 3 lovely new patterns. They are all so great.

Picushion meeting

Yesterday ten girls met at our local quiltshop to have a sewing together and the theme was pincushions.

We are a small group that will try to meet now and then to get something done.

We brought patterns and books to share ideas.

I think everyone started to work on a pincushion. I started on a felted pincushion from the book "Pretty little pincushions". It is difficult to find felt in pretty colours here, so I had to use what I had available.

And several of the other girls started on this pincushion found on internet.

I collected some of the pincushions I and the others had brought to the meeting. Lailas sewingcaddy to the left. I started stitching on a similar one too. The felted one I started is the yellow/orange in the middle. Now I have to decorate it with embroidery. The big square one on top is one I got from Linda in a pincushionswap some time ago.

Workshop with Hanne

This weekend I have had Hanne on visit. She had a workshop in our local quiltshop and here you can see the busy women in action. So concentrated all of them LOL
Hanne is teaching us to make the toilet bag I showed you in a earlier post. And she is a great teacher.

A lot of rotarycutting and pins

And a lot of sewing.

Me deeply concentrated in sewing the zipper on to the toilet bag.

And below is some of the toiletbags that was made this weekend

They are all so beautiful.

The workshop was Yeasterday and today Hanne and I have just relaxed sewing and chatting. That means she was relaxing with a new block for her Angel Storybook quilt, and I had to finish my two toiletbags that was started yesterday at the workshop.

Frida the Quiltinspector watching what I am doing. She is testing if the toiletbag is soft enough to sleep on.
And this is my two finished toiletbags. The front...........
and the back. Think both is going to be christmasgifts for someone. They were fun to sew and I guess there will be made more of these before christmas.
And look.....Hanne gave me this birthdaygift. A baking cloth (that I have to sew myself) to cover the dough when it is waiting to go in the oven. Thank you Hanne, I love it.

The last Stitchers Angel package

Yesterday I wrapped the last packages for my Stitchers Angel Friend and I will post it today. The package is going to a lady who has a blog I do not understand a word of LOL and the land looks like a boot on the map.

She has to open them like this:
#1 is something useful
#2 is a clue; I love to do this and hope you to will love doing this
#3 is the second clue to where I live
#4 is another clue; this was finished before it was released as a pattern on Stitchers Angels
#5 is a card from me telling her who I am.

Hope she will like what I am sending her.

I wonder who my Stitcher Angel is :)

A little bit of everything

Recently I had my birthday and some friends remembered me with quilty birthdaygifts. This is what I got: A Tilda box (I just love boxes) filled with ric rac from Laila. A beautiful pincushion from Stina. Fabric, cards and a great needle holder from Nancy. A book about crazy stitching from Kristin (no blogger). I also got a beutiful ceramic cat from Nadine, but I have not photo of it right now. Show you later. I also got redwine, a wool jacket and other things from my family and other friends. Thank you all for remembering me with nice comments in my blog and mail.
And this is what I brought with me home from Sweden. I do not think the shops at the meeting had so much to offer me, but I found these things. A new japaneese book (a lot of great ideas in that one), a stitcherypattern designed by a swedish lady, a new handle for a bag, and the pattern to make that bag, three meters of zipper with a lot of zipperlocks to thread on, and a swedish quiltmagazine.

Bjørg visited me today and we started to prepare the application for our Joy of Life quilts. We agreed both to use needleturn applique. We spend a lot of time choosing colours to get the look that we wanted on our quilts.
I am making me almost like the original, but Bjørg is making it in grey/blue. Think hers will look very nice and it will be fun seing the progress on both quilts and how different they will be.
We have started to make block number five that is in the middle. And this is how my first block will look like. So this evening I am enjoying sewing on it.

Old projects is pulled out of my bags. I intend to finish Leannes House before next year. I am handquilting it and it was fun doing that again. Have not been handquilting for a long time. Before Bjørg came today I manage to sew together block number five of Butterfly Garden. There is a lot of applique and stitching on this block.
And on my train trip to sweden I mangage to finish the last two blocks for Gail Pans Sewing Angels. And today I sewed them all together. Another quilt I want to handquilt.
Another old project I finished yesterday, and it took me only 15 minutes to finish it. I guess you all have a lot of "almost-finished-just-need-a-few-more-stitches"-projects. Now I just have to get it framed. I got the Ikea frames both for this stitchery and the other Leanne stitchery I made one year ago...............GOSH..........one year ago...............I really have to get them framed now and up on the wall LOL
I also finished the stitcheries for the workshop next weekend. Hanne is coming to me next friday and saturday she is giving the workshop in our local quiltshop making the makeup bag I showed you two posts ago. I really look forward to her visit and her workshop.
So this weekend have really been productive. I am so happy. Perhaps time starts to calm down now. It has been so hectic the last two months. Where have august and september gone??? Already oct 12th and christmas is approaching very fast.

Gives us a shower

Leaves sailing down -
