SNOW

This is what I woke up to this morning. A white blanket covered the ground. And it is still snowing. It is beautiful, but I'm not ready for winter yet. Luckily it is predicted SUN tomorrow. So I have to postpone my visit to my mother until tomorrow. Will not drive on the snowy roads with summer tires.

Jeanne at Luv2stitch reacently posted about a stitchery classics magazine, think it is Homespun. Me being such a stitchery lover have now looked at the net where to get this magazine. But no luck. Is there anyone out there that lives near a place that sells it???? and could buy it for me???? I could swap fabric or patterns against the magazine, or I could transfer money to you.

Saying for today:
Life is like a blanket of snow
be careful how you step on it
every step will show.

Lovely snow, I hope it will disappear soon through the warmth of some sunshine, so you can travel the roads again! I bought two editions of Homespun at http://www.honeysucklecottage.com.au/ in Australia. I don’t know if it’s the magazine you would like to have. Maybe you could ask Kim, the owner of the shop if she could arrange the Stitchery Edition. Good luck!

What a beautiful sight to wake up to--as long as you can chose not to go out/drive in it. I haven't seen snow in a couple of years, we don't get it very often here.

Ok, now I'm getting homesick for Norway and snow - especially as we are heading for another hot summer!

Snow already !! We have the air conditioner on here at the moment as it is feeling like summer not spring. Bring on the summer time I say.

What a beautiful sight to wake to. I've only rarely seen snow actually falling from the sky, but it was such a peaceful thing to enjoy *s*

Hi May,

Here is a US website where you can buy the magazine. I've ordered from them before and their service is excellent. The link takes you directly to the magazine page. If that doesn't work go to www.quiltbooksusa.com, then click on the "Australian magazines" link on the left. Good luck!

The snow looks pretty. Don't blame you for being careful about the driving today.

I just checked Amazon.com for the magazine. For 12 issues the cost is $278.14 or $23.18/per issue. Guess I won't be subscribing through them!

Hi May Britt.
Keep your snow - we did not get any today, even if it was on the weather forecast. I am not ready for winter yet.
I just checked quiltbooksusa.com - I am a regular customer on books there, asking if they ship Homespun to Norway as subscription. In that case I am also eager to get my hands on it. I will let you know. The price there is nice. I asked if they can send 2 mags in one envelope on a regular basis, to save postage. Eileen has very good service so I am crossing my fingers.

What a lovely sight! I so love the snow and live where we average only and inch a year. But I'm grateful for it!

I also love that saying and would like use it in embroidery. Did you write it and may I use it?

PS... I buy Homespun at my LQS (Anna Lena's) and it's pretty well stocked on all the Ozzy mags. It may even be cheaper to order directly from them or work out a swap. You can get more info at annalena.com. I don't think magazines can be purchased directly from the website, but you can email them for a purchase.

har du sjekka om narvesen har det i sine lister? Da kan du evt få din lokale kiosk til å bestille det opp. Evt om jordbærstedet har det - mener jeg har sett det bladet ett elelr annet sted heromkring, men husker ikek hvor.

May, the snow does look very pretty, but I am a long way away from wanting it here. I hope you can find the magazine. It is a nice one.

Snow already??? I guess you are further north than we are (Wisconsin). Although our temps have been in the low 40's and that's cold. I love getting all those warm clothes on and wooly socks. I can't wait for a fire in the fireplace and soups and stews simmering on the stove. It must be my Norwegian heritage.

I just checked the crazymomquilts blog and I think you have the edge to win the quilt. There seems to be 3 bloggers in contention for it, but I think its yours. Of course, I entered and cited you as referring me there.
