SEWING!!

Some weeks ago I started this table runner (pattern from Northern Quilts). It was just a try to see if my arm could do some cutting. I realized then that rotary cutting was not good for my arm. But this was soooooo little cutting so after using long time on it I sewed this together. And this week and weekend I have appliqued the apple blossom flower on it. You see........ I have been clever.............just a few threads each day :)
A close up of the flower.
So now I have to baste the table runner and quilt it. This time NOT handquilting. I will definitively use my sewingmachine now.

Do you remember the christmas quilt I started in may. I had put all the applique on and it was ready to sewn. So yesterday when I had finished applique on the table runner I started on it. I did three gingerbread men, one heart and almost one angel. If I do sloooooooooooooow stitches I manage to do a little bit sewing each day.
Do you remember the japaneese fabrics in my previous post. This is what I intended to make with them. So this weekend I traced ten flowers on vlisofix, ironed them onto fabric and cut five of them .
Using the scissor was NOT good for my shoulder. It's strange that some things works ok with my arm, and some things not. And I have to try to find out what to do or not. As the doc and physio tells me; I can do thing that's not giving me pain. But it's so hard to be patient.
Saying for today:

The table runner is beautiful! All of your work is lovely.
Take good care of yourself, & just take it slowly.

Spennende løper og nydelige appliksajoner du driver med. Har du helt nytt blad i kniven din - da går kuttinga så mye lettere, speielt hvis matta ikke er utslitt også.

May Brit, your applique is so gorgeous. What method do you use?

Love the Japanese blocks! Those fabrics speak to me. Patience is not the easiest virtue to possess! Ask me how I know that? The table runner is very nice, too. You do lovely applique work. Take care.

What good news about your progress with your shoulder! Yeahhhh! The work you've been doing is lovely -- and those Japanese fabrics? Yummm! Keep being careful -- slow and no pain is better than fast and hurting!

Hi May

Sorry I haven't visited in a while. I love your Japanese fabrics. Thanks for the mini round robin instructions. I haven't seen it done this way before. I'm sorry to hear your arm is giving you so much trouble. I hope it gets better soon.

What adorable little gingermen. I do hope you are able to find some comfortable ways to cut and stitch. Taking it slow is the best - just enjoy every stitch to the fullest *s*

Your apple blossom flower is very beautiful! As is your Christmas quilt and your Japanese fabric flowers. It's amazing that you manage such gorgeous stitching and so much creativity with your sore arm. I hope you are getting better day by day as it's always nice to see what you get up to.
