Cold weather
Until close to Christmas we had very strange winther weather with rain and warm temperatures. But this photo is taken 21.dec when it startet to snow.
And it snowed a lot and gave us a beautiful white Christmas. But the temperature started to sink.
And it got very cold.
This photo I took early this morning. Look at the beautiful sunrise! Hope this means a change in the weather and the temparature will rise a little bit.
Not so much out doors activity when it is this cold. Rusken is not allowed outdoors in this cold weather. He also thinks it is too cold. So he helps me checking blogs and just sleeps in front of the fire place.
I have been doing some needleturn and stitchery while watching Christmas movies on tv. And yesterday I went into my sewing room and sewed a few blocks for my Phebe quilt. Will continue sewing more of these today. Love working on my Phebe quilt.
I have not been able to post this photo earler. But now when the Christmas present is opened I can show you. Potholders and makeup bags for my family this year.

Merry Christmas
Christmas peace is in the house and we are ready to celebrate. There has not been so much blogging lately, but I promise I will do better next year. However I have used Instagram a lot, so if you use Instagram you can follow me there as abyquilt (of course LOL)
Both my children are home for Christmas and they are as always having a lot of fun decorating the Christmas tree.
Santa filled the stockings last night and I found this hanging on my sewing room door.
Look what I found in my stocking. Love this pattern. Have to trace this on a fabric and start sewing it. Thank you Santa for remembering me.
Rusken have found himself a new spot in the sewing room and wish all his friends a Merry Christmas.
Merry Christmas to all my friends. I wish you all a peaceful Christmas with a lot of joy and sparkle.

December 1.st
Today I could open the adventcalendar from my daughter. It is always a joy to get this from her. Each day I can open a box and there is a saying she has written down to me. I love this calendar and I am looking forward to each morning I can open a new box.

1.st sunday in advent
Already 1.st sunday in advent. I have started my Christmas preparations. And this morning I enjoyed opening my advent calender in the light of the first advent candle. I enjoy these quiet mornings. This year I have four advent calenders. One from Hanne, one from Nancy and one that is to myself from myself. I gave a friend some money and asked her to buy me four small quilty gifts and wrap them up for me as an adventcalendar. The fourth adventcalendar is from my daughter, but I am not allowed to open it until tomorrow. So I am so curious what she came up with this year. Love the one she gave me last year.
Wish you all a wonderful 1.st advent.

November quilt meeting
Yesterday 35 ladies from my quilt group came together to celebrate the 15-year anniversary of our quilt group.
We met at Siris which is a newly opened restaurant here in my town.
We had wonderful 3 dishes dinner
and several had brougth sewing to go with the coffee and dessert. The owner of the restaurant commented that it looked so cosy with us sewing at the table.
And true to our tradition everyone had brought a christmas present to the party, and as usual we had a lot of fun playing santa and give one present to all.
After dinner there was show and tell:

Cabin trip, houses and surprise in the mail
The last weeks have gone so fast and so much have happened. I have been to busy to blog, so here is a summary of the last weeks.
Cabin trip with friends
I am so enjoying these cabin trips. Just relaxing, sewing, chatting, laughing, eating good food and just having a wonderful time together. It is a small cabin, but as you all know quilters tend to bring MORE projects and stuff that is actually needed for a couple of days. This photo shows what only two of us brought in to the cabin LOL
Since we was going to celebrate my birthday (which was in september) I brought the cake. This time I made my favorite which is carrot cake. And look at the cute bundle of fabrics I got from my friends. LOVE IT. Thank you for this wonderful birthday present.
My working space this weekend.
As you see I am wokring on my tiny 3 inch houses.
Just have to show you this lovely photo. At the cabin we have electrisity (thank you for that because we can bring our sewing machines), but no water. We bring drinking water, but what do we do when we need to wash a fabric. Out to the well. And as you see we had a lot of snow. We laughed a lot while rinsing the fabric in the cold water from the well.
My tiny 3 inch houses
I am having so fun sewing these tiny 3 inch houses. I started to sew some other 3 inch houses some weeks ago. But when Hanne designed this house I loved this house even more and so far I have made 20 tiny #tinyshipshewanahouse and I am only using fabrics #frommyscrapbag. There is several ladies all over the world sewing these houses now, and several of us are meeting up again in Shipshewana next november. It will be so fun to see all the neighbourhoods when we meet.
And look what I found at work some days ago. A cookie box with HOUSES. When the boys had eaten all the cookies the box came home with me. I will fill it up, not with cookies, but with houses.
Surprise in the mailbox
I have said it earlier that quilt friends are the best and they are so generous.
When I asked on net for suggestions where to buy wool, my friend Debra offered to send me some wool from her stash. And I never in my mind thought she would send me this BIG package of wool. When I opened the box I was overwhelmed and happily surprised. You have to read her post about culling the heard.
Now I have sorted the wool in a box and I love looking at it. And I am so looking forward to start making something with this.
She also gifted Hanne and me with this lovely thread and a pattern (which I will not show as it has to be a surprise for Hanne). So Hanne, you know what we will be doing in a few weeks when you are visiting me.
Thank you so much Debra for sending me this wonderful package. You really made my day!!
