Columbus Ohio and Shipshewana - part 1

It's time to start blogging about my trip to USA in november.  Still having trouble with Live writer so I am blogging directly to blogspot this time.  I miss Live writer, so if there is anyone knowing how to fix this please let me know.

Well, where to start. I met Hanne at Gardermoen airport nov 11th.  We were both excited doing this travel together and to meet our friends again.

First stop was Colombus Ohio where Deb and her husband met us.  We were so happy to meet up again.  Two years since last time we spendt some time together.

Of course visiting quilt shops was on our to do list.  And already the second day we went to Red Rooster qiults which is close to Deb.

 Beautiful quilts on the walls.

For lunch we went to Morgan House.  I loved the atmosphere in this old restaured restaurant.

And I love this quilt that was hanging on the wall.

A close up of the block.  LOVE IT.

We also visited Columbus Zoo and Aquarium.  We walked around there for four hours and had a great time.  Still we manage just to see half of the zoo.  We'll do the other half next time.

Love the display of quilts at Deb's house.  I wish I had walls like this in my house.

Loved sitting around the table just sewing and chatting.  We had a lot of catch up chatting to do.

I am a bit envious.  In USA there is QUILT programs on TV.  Hello Norway.......why can't we have some quilt shows on tv !!!!

Another fun happening was that we went to the Whole Foods store for a wine and food tasting.  How fun was that !!

Then it was time to visit at Colleens place.  And of course a visit to Fabric shack.  One of my favorite internet shops.  I have ordered from them several times and it was so fun to visit this shop for real.

And to meet these to lovely ladies in the shop.

Shopping........OH YES!!!!

Colleen had invited her mother and some friends over for coffee.

And we got a little show and tell.

We had a great day together!!

And then it was time to head up to Shipshewana for the Jane Stickle retreat.  Look at Collens license plate. Just LOVE IT.
