A creative weekend

Today Bjørg (no blogger) and I had our second meeting in our sewing together BOM project. We are working on the blocks in Rosalie Quinlands BOM "Joy of Life". We prepared block number one this time. Bjørg have already placed the applique pieces on her block, but I had to upick my block because I had sewed some pieces wrong together. Luckily Bjørg discovered it before I had started on my applique. I manage to put all the parts on my block to before I went home, so tonight I will needle turn applique on this block.
And what was laying on her floor when I came into her livingroom. Bjørg have finished quilting her Angel Story Book quilt............grpmhhhh........she just have to sew on the binding. So I guess she will finish it before deadline des 31th. I still have to baste and quilt mine.

Here are the two first blocks Bjørg and I have made. She is making hers i blue and I am making mine in red/pink. We started with block number five (the middle block). As you see I still have to applique the leafs on mine. I got a bit behind in making this block because I had problems finding the perfect fabric for the small hearts.

Reacently I won a giveway on Gail Pans blog. I love this pattern and will work on it as my christmas project. Gail also had added some chocolate in the package.......... Yes I know ....one of them is already opened and it tasted sooooooo good LOL. Thank you Gail :)

Yesterday my order on batting arrived. This is the batting I use behind my stitcheries and I have ordered it from Northern Quilts. If anyone of you norwegian want to buy similar it is the one she is calling "Dukvatt tynn" (tidligere Padloft). I highly recomend it.

Laila have reacently been in Trondheim and visited Quiltegården. And she brought back home with her some books I had ordered. The new book of Annie Downs and a the new book from Bareroots. I looooooooooove both these books. Sadly neither of these two books came with extra hours a day to make all I want.

Goodies in the mail

When I came home from work two days ago (sorry not blogging this earlier, but I have been so tired) my mailbox was filled with goodies. One big package and two envelopes.

I knew the big package was from my Stitchers Angel because she had mailed me that it was on its way to me. But then there were two envelopes.....................and I hurried to open them first.

Thank you Hanne for sending me your newest design. It is a beautiful christmas shopping bag. I love it. You are such a dear friend sharing this with me. She is also having a giveaway on this pattern and you still have a chance to win this, she is drawing the winners on monday, so hurry over to her blog and comment.
In the next envelope there was a beautiful stitcherypattern from Gertie at Trudies craftroom. Some while ago I won a giveaway on her blog and it was this "Bauble Trio" Wall-hanging. Thank you Gertie, I love this one and hope I will be able to make it for this christmas.

And then.........
the package from my Stitchers Angel

Wrapped in a cute paper. I see a applique pattern in that one LOL

And inside the package three packages . And now I read the card from Kris Meares - Tag Along Teddies blog. I knew she was my Stitching Angel because she mailed me last week and told me so. She writes in her card that on the blogpost where she shows the angel gifts she tells that she dare to show these gifts because the receiver have not visited her blog yet..............LOL......I think she got a bit shocked when I was number two commenter this day LOL LOL Sorry Kris for scaring you.

Look what she sendt me!!!! I love it all. A beautiful pincushion, needlekeeper and a scissors pouch that is her own design. And two tins, you all know I just LOVE tins and boxes. And still there is more.... a funny measure tape, teabags, a first aid sewer kit and a notebook.
Kris.....you have so spoiled me and I love it all. THANK YOU for being my Stitchers Angel.

I have taken control.....

.....over my sewingroom LOL It has been a total mess (again) for several weeks (months). I have been so busy both at work and at home so that my sewingroom has been so neglected. But this weekend I took control over it again.

And it feels so good. Now I feel happy walking into my sewingroom and I feel like sewing again. I know Hanne has done the same this weekend, and Stina has also problems with her sewingroom.
BTW Hanne is also having a giveaway on a new pattern, so head over to her blog and see what she has designed this time.
Another giveway is done by Abbie. She is giving away a wonderful quilt so head over to her blog and make a comment.

After finished cleaning up my sewingroom I made a mess out of it again LOL (just kidding) Deadline for sending the package in the Polkadot and Ric-rac swap is nov 15th and I had to finish sewing a little thing for my swap partner. This is a little sneak peak of what could be in the package.
And this is what I am sending ........ooooops.......I almost wrote her name. Or this is what I thought it would look like. When I put everything in the envelope to see what postage it would be, it turned out that it was just a tiny little bit overweight for a normal postage. So what do a girl do...........I unwrapped it and put it all together another way. I think the important thing is to send her everything I had put together. The wrapping paper is not that important. So now it is in the mail overseas to xxxxxx. I will show you a photo of it when she has received it......in about a week I guess :)
The name tags I had ordered was in the mail yesterday. And I am so pleased with it. Grmphhh....that reminds me I forgot to put one on my little gift for my polkadot swap partner. I am so pleased how they turned out.
This weekend I have enjoyed the company of my DD. She came home for a few days and we have had a great time together talking, shopping, watching movies, good food and just relaxed. She have worked on her photo schoolproject and I have been stitching. It was so good to have her back home for a few days.

A quilters weekend

This weekend I went on a cabintrip with three good friends, Irene (who owns the cabin), Bjørg and Britt (.....all no bloggers).
And you know when a quilter is packing her bags, she always brings toooooo much......just in case. This is just the bags of three quilters (the fourth came the next day) and Irene had manage to take some of the bags further inside the cabin before I manage to get this photo.

And then............ready to sew..........for three days.........friday, saturday and sunday.

The cabin is small so we had to use every available space.
Tracing applique pattern

Rotarycutting besides bread, coffee and the sink

Using the window as a lightbox to trace stitchery pattern
And the floor to see how the blocks goes together.

Out for fresh air in beautiful cold sunny weather.
Minus 14 during the night and about zero in daytime.
Winter has arrived.
Bjørg, Britt and Irene for a long walk.
And then back to sewing again. We had one big project this weekend. We was going to make quilts for children with long term diseases. My friend Hanne has made so many of these quilts and have inspired us so much.
So here is photos of the three quilt tops we made this weekend:

We hope we can make some children smile when they get them.

We also had some time to work on other projects. I had brought some UFO's and it feels so good to have worked on something "old".
I sewed my adventcalendar together.
Now ready to be basted and quilted.

I finished Lynett Anderssons needlecase.
This is the front

And this is inside it.
It was a lot of work on this sewingcase.

I finished this little stitchery. It is from Bronwyn Hayes Polka Dot girls and I think it will be a part of the Polkadot and Ric Rac swap.

Bjørg made the two table toppers at the left. Britt made the autumn table topper to the left.

This has been a great weekend together with wonderful friends. A lot of laughter, chatting, deep conversations, red wine, a lot of good food and of course a lot of sewing.
My friend Laila was also on a cabintrip with good friends. Read all about it here.

Stitchers Angel and a giveaway

My Stitchers Angel have received all her gifts from me now and finally I can show you what I sendt her.
The first package was a pincushion and some buttons. Just to tell her that this was the first package and there would be more to come later. To hide who sendt it I changed my adress to my DS that lives in Oslo :)

And the last package was some chocolate from Norway, a stitchery with thread (so she can make it herself), needles and of course the sewing bag. My Stitchers Angel friends was Sandra from Italy. And as she has a blog in italian I do not understand a word of what she is writing LOL
This have been a fun project. Making several things for my Stitchers Angel. And visit other blogs to see what they have made and received. So thank you Helen for starting this Stitchers Angel swap. I am so glad I joined it.
But still.............I'm wondering who my Stitchers Angel is. Not a singel clue yet LOL LOL
By the way............
Helen is having a giveaway with 3 lovely new patterns. They are all so great.
