A lot of sewing

I got a lot of sewing done this weekend :) I am so happy. Yesterday I had planned to go to a 6 years birthday, but the weather stopped me. Just before I was leaving home a snowstorm came. It was snowing and blowing like h..... and I did not dare to drive for 45 minutes in the snowstorm. So I stayed inside, fired in my wood burner and light some candles. A glass of red wine and my Applique Design blocks. They are so fun to make and I managed to finish two blocks. So here is .....

A D block number 14
And AD block number 15
I have also prepared the next four blocks for february sewing. One block per week. But this week I made two :) But now I have no freezerpaper left so I have to ask in the grocery shop tomorrow if I can get some more.
And I am out of vlisofix too. Discovered that when I was to prepare more blocks for my Daisy quilt.
Do you remember the stitchery I showed some days ago. This is what I made of it. A toilet purse. But it got a bit too small for a toilet bag. So perhaps it is a make up purse instead. But I do not have that much make up :) Or perhaps I can have some quilting tools in it. And I have been a good girl. I have used some of my newest fabrics. And it felt good to cut in them.
The back of it. I think my flower quilting is not too bad. I am feeling more and more secure of machine quilting. It is fun and fast. It is easy to quilt small things on my machine. But I have a couple of big quilts I want to machine quilt. Do you think I can do it on my Janome? How do you quilt big things on a ordinary sewing machine?

The flower applique blocks are beautiful, so spring-like. Hard to believe they were done in the middle of a snowstorm!

Your blocks are beautiful. I have quilted as large as queen size on my home machine but it's not easy and I always do simple patterns like stitch-in-the-ditch or diagonals.

Your AD blocks are cute. What a great way to spend your time during a snow storm. I like you little bag. I vote for it to be used as a quilting tool bag. It's too pretty for makeup.

Those are great applique blocks. This is going to be the absolute cutest quilt, when all the blocks are finished. I saw someone else's on their blog the other day.

Your machine quilting (and the whole little bag is wonderful - good choice for using that stitchery) looks great to me. That question of how to do a big quilt was what led me to buying a longarm all those years ago - more than 10 now. I loved that! I miss that, most of all the things I gave up to go on the road.

Your toilet bag is so cute. You did a great job.

This winter weather is getting a little too much I think - too bad you couldn't go to the birthday, but you were very productive with your quilting. Love the applique blocks.

your little stitchery bag is lovely. I was wondering what you were going to do with that block.

Your applique blocks are also lovely. You are certainly moving along with them.

I love the little bag! What a great use for this piece of stitchery. I like the idea of using it for a quilting project tote. It would be a shame to hide it away in a bigger purse or tote which is what you'd do if you put make-up in it.

As far as quilting big quilts on the machine - I tried it once and hated it, but lots of people do it without a problem. I strongly recommend you get a good book - Diane Gaudynsky's is great. I know I didn't spell that name right, but if you search for "machine quilting" + diane you should be able to find it.

Love the quilting on your little bag. I enjoy quilting on my machine -- took me sometime to learn to relax. Make sure you have plenty of room and a large table to hold the bulk of the quilt -- your shoulders will thank you.

Beautiful blocks, & a beautiful little bag. Yes, use it for quilty things, & that way you can admire it regularly!
I am like Joyce, only do simple quilting on my Janome, in the Ditch or diagonals, also. Small projects are ok to do stipple quilting, but it is not easy for me.

Beautiful appliqué blocks. Make sure when you are machine quilting to turn your sewing machine and table against a wall so the quilt will not fall off the back of the table. I recommend
Sue Nichol's book on machine quilting along with the one Pam recommended. Harriet Hargrave's book is also good.

Lovely AD blocks, beautiful purse and very nice machine quilting :-)
I am so much looking forward to do more applique. First I want to make 4 more of those string blocks and add a border. Maybe I can start prepping one later today :-)
When I machine quilt I roll the quilt. I see you have been recommended good books.

These blocks are really outstanding! Wish I could do such beautiful work. Somehow it just doesn't get done if I can't use my sewing machine...
This Siggy swap sounds like lots of fun, I've never been in one before, but I would love to join this one, if I may?

I've tried to leave a comment on Cynthia's blog, but it didn't get through...
