Desperatly wanting to sew !!!

Have you had that feeling too? Desperately wanting to sew, but you don't have the time for it. And when you are not have time to sew, hundreds of new ideas pops up in my head. Browsing through all your blogs does not help anything, you all give me new ideas. This week has been very very hectic. Every day I have brought home papers from work. And I have worked until it was time to go to bed. Not a stitch is sewed these days, and I start to be desperate now. I WANT TO SEW!!!!!

I went in to my sewingroom and found this box. I love boxes like this to store my projects. This box I bought when I came home from a visit in France. When someone at work are abroad we always buy sweets for the others. I bought this box filled with sweets. And I told them they could it it all, but the box was mine :) Do you want to see what's in the box?

My long lost needle threeder. I inherited one from my mother so I have not been without, but it is good to have one extra..... just in case.

In the box was also all my nine patches. All of them is hand stitched and each mesures 3 x 3 inches. I have prepared a lot of squares and it is fun to play with them to find the right colours put together. I will try not to have two similar dark fabrics in the nine patches.
I do not know what I finally will make of it. Right now I am just playing with them. Perhaps I should have this on my weekly goals. Make at least 3 nine patches a week??? You probably think I am crazy doing all this by hand. I know it is faster to it with machine. But when I handpiece all the ninepatches gets equal in size. And I love relaxing with my small pieces in my sewing spot.

But this seems so long time ago. I am desperately in need to sew now!!!!!!!!!!!!! To be creative!!!!! Need to feel fabrics in my hands!!!!!!!!!!!

Cleaning up in my bathroom today I noticed my bag that is hanging there. I do not think I have showed you this one. I made it some years ago. Think it was a pattern from australien patchwork and quilting. I love this bag and I would like to make another, but I can't find the magazine. Perhaps one day I will have time to look through all my quilt magazines (Oh my God....that will take a looooong time, because I have plenty of them) to find it againg.

Tomorrow it is friday again, and I hope I will get time to sew.

And I bought a new car today!!!! The old one got condemned

I bought a Mazda 626 Gxl 99 mod. And I think I'll get it next wednesday.

Saying for today:

Stressed is desserts spelled backwards

NEW: I have reloaded the photos again since some of them did not show. I do not know what went wrong in the first time. Thank you for noticing me of it. Photos is very important in blogland you know :)

Love the bag, May! And you chose a good car. We've had a couple Mazda's, and both have been marvelous.

I know what you mean about sewing. I find some time on the weekend but that's about it. Work takes up all my time during the week!

Ooooh, me too, May Britt!! I LOVE that bag!! But of course I love all of your bags and quilts. LOL You are just sooo good at choosing fabrics. And I do hope you get some time to sew soon---I've missed your daily blogging. :)

I love little tin boxes, too! I have several with projects in them, usually a Whitman's Sampler box, but sometimes something else.

The bag is just darling. I've made one thing from one of those Aussie mags - a pillow with a Koala on it.

Love your little sewing box - isn't fun to have little secret projects tucked all around *s* I hope you are able to find a moment or two to take a stitch soon. For me it is the best therapy.

Great bag, it is so cute. Definitely worth making again if you can find the pattern.

I love to collect tins as well and do the very same thing, put something in them and then forget about them. It is always a surprise to open them up again - LOL

I think that collecting adorable tins such as yours is definitely a love of many sewers. :-) I have so many and they all hold little treasures. And, I'm constantly on the look out for a new one.

Oh my sweetie drove a Mazda 626 for 10 years - great car! Enjoy it!

Your bag is cuter than cute, May Britt.

I hope that you'll find a few minutes very, very soon to sew a few stitches!

That feeling of being desperate to sew is awfully intense. It comes over me, too, when I have too many consecutive days without sewing anything. I try to have some kind of hand-work around so that if I can't get to the machine, I can at least hand-sew for a half hour in front of the TV. That helps. Right now, though, I just finished binding a quilt and have NOTHING for hand-sewing. But it is the beginning of the weekend. So I am optimistic.

i feel just like you May Britt. I have hardly done any sewing except for a bit of handwork when i went to my Craft groups. I'm hoping this weekend to do some sewing on my machine.

I just love your Bronwyn heart. It's so cute. I know what you mean about the wanting to sew. I'm just glad it's the weekend so I can catch up on my hand quilting. Sadly I have jury duty on Monday which will be a day off work.

I love your red tin and the bag. I love to use unique containers for holding projects too. I have a small basket that has been holding my book making tools. I'm thinking about re-purposing it to hold a quilting project.

I hope your long work hours don't last too many more days.

Thanks for reloading the photos. I was curious about seeing the contents of the boxes :-)

Congrats on the new car. So many things I wanted to comment upon in this post, but I will only comment on the bag. I made several bags similar to this and and hang one on my closet doorknob. I put my panty hose and hand washables in it for the next laundry. That way, those items don't accidentally get mixed in with the jeans, shirts, etc. AND, I like looking at it! Your is so cute.

Your bag is very cute. I just love the projects in the Australian magazines, however, they are not always easy to come by around here.

I had some problems to see some of your photos in this post but now everything is ok. I love your bag, the colours the motifs and the detailed work you have done. I'm doing a nine patch too but it is machine sewed. What a lot of work you have sewing this tiny pieces by hand!

I love hand sewing, I think it so soothing, and as you say more accurate. The bag is lovely and rings a bell too. I think i have that australian magazine too. I hope you find more time next week to sew!

Love your bag May, but then being an Aussie I love the Aussie magazines. Have a pile here ready to get rid of, trying to find somewhere close that sells them.

May Britt, I certainly do hope that you get a chance to sew! Those nine patches are adorable, and I think that hand sewing satisfies the sewing urge better than a machine can. The bag is great! Congratulations on your new car.

Thanks for stopping by my new blog and for the welcome.

What is it about tin boxes? I have quite a number also and the treasures they hold!

Good news about the car.

Sad to hear that life will not let you sew. Amazing what we can think of to do when we can't get to the needles to release the muse.

You make such wonderful things. Love the bag.
