Getting bored

Some days you are really bored with all the old projects that you have in you sewingbasket and in all your boxes in the sewingroom. And you start looking through books and magazines. That is what I did sunday morning. I felt like I had to find a small project to start on. I have a lot of focus project I really should focus on, but I was soooooooo bored with all of them. I needed some new inspiration.

In one of my japanese books I found a small toote, and decided to give it a try. And not use any of the fabrics from my japanese fabric drawer, just using my scraps from the scrap bag.

And this is what I came up with sunday afternoon. Now it is ready to be handquilted.

And l00k, goodies in the mail. Two weeks ago my quilt won the Quilting gallerys theme about Circle quilts. And now my prize has arrived. 16 fat quarters with polkadots and circles. I love them. Thank you all of you that voted on my quilt :)

Another mailbox surprise arrived yesterday. Look at all these wonderful selvages :) Karen from The Selvage Blog sendt me an envelope filled with georgious selvages. Enlarge the photo and take a look at them, love the ones with camshells, nuts, shoes and birds on. They are so cute. Thank you Karen, I love them, and I have an idea what to do with them. Perhaps already this weekend.
Mailbox surprises are the best thing to get, and it made me happy in a stressful workday. Note to myself, do not stress, take time to relax with some sewing each day, and try to leave the pile of work behind when I lock the office door. .

Saying for today:

Hello May Britt,I would have thought you would never get bored, with all the projects you seem to get through. It is a good idea to use your scraps, I tend to throw little pieces out, but I am now saving selvedges and probably have enough to make some pincushions. I won one once on an American's blog site and I was so excited!!!!

I gave away a lot of selvedges to a friend who is making a quilt with them, but I think I will try some small things with them, for fun.

I do the same thing...look through old magazines. In fact, I am now making a quilt that I found in a magazine that is over 11 years old. Enjoy all your goodies that you received in the mail.
