Spring trip to the cabin

Seven ladies at the cabin last weekend. And we had perfect sewing weather.  We all long for sun and warm weather, but this weekend we had snow and cold winds.  Perfect to stay indoors and just sew. Not much space, but we always find a way to sew.

One old UFO had come with me on this trip and I sewed it together and glue basted it on the bedroom floor.  Think I started this table cloth at a workshop in 2007-2008.

Started to quilt it on a table out in the hall.  Sitting there I had plenty of space to do my machinequilting.

Another UFO was a Christmas wallquilt designed by AnnAKa in 2011.  I worked on all the stitcheries while sitting by my mothers side in the hospital.  But when she passed away I did not felt for sewing on it again, it brought back to many bad memories. But now, several years later I really love working on this quilt, and now it brings back all the good memories of my mother and I sewing together.  I managed to sew the quilt together this weekend and today I have basted it.  Ready for quilting and then doing the last applique on it.  Looking forward to put it on my wall next Christmas.

I had some  tiny scraps leftovers from my previous post (challenge to myself).  And I made a little mug rug.  Those tiny tiny scraps that are left now I allowed myself to throw away.  Mission completed, ALL the yellow fabric is used !!!!

While visiting my friend Deb in Ohio last november I fell in love with some log cabin table cloths that she had made.  I wanted to make one for myself.  And when I bought Jo Mortons new book "Jo's little favorites" I knew I had to make the one that was in the book.

I added some more rows to make it bigger.  So fun to sew, and I know I will make more of these.

This is a box with small Moda HoneyBun strips I got as a gift many years ago.  I have now sewed them together and my plan is soon to make some makeup bags.

The cabin trip was last weekend, and this weekend I have quilted the log cabin table cloth and I have sewed down the binding on both.  Two new table cloths on my rack.  Happy happy.

Love this one !!

And already a finish for next Christmas.

What better way than to spend a weekend? In a cabin, friends, laughter and lots of fabrics?
