A little bit of everything

Recently I had my birthday and some friends remembered me with quilty birthdaygifts. This is what I got: A Tilda box (I just love boxes) filled with ric rac from Laila. A beautiful pincushion from Stina. Fabric, cards and a great needle holder from Nancy. A book about crazy stitching from Kristin (no blogger). I also got a beutiful ceramic cat from Nadine, but I have not photo of it right now. Show you later. I also got redwine, a wool jacket and other things from my family and other friends. Thank you all for remembering me with nice comments in my blog and mail.
And this is what I brought with me home from Sweden. I do not think the shops at the meeting had so much to offer me, but I found these things. A new japaneese book (a lot of great ideas in that one), a stitcherypattern designed by a swedish lady, a new handle for a bag, and the pattern to make that bag, three meters of zipper with a lot of zipperlocks to thread on, and a swedish quiltmagazine.

Bjørg visited me today and we started to prepare the application for our Joy of Life quilts. We agreed both to use needleturn applique. We spend a lot of time choosing colours to get the look that we wanted on our quilts.
I am making me almost like the original, but Bjørg is making it in grey/blue. Think hers will look very nice and it will be fun seing the progress on both quilts and how different they will be.
We have started to make block number five that is in the middle. And this is how my first block will look like. So this evening I am enjoying sewing on it.

Old projects is pulled out of my bags. I intend to finish Leannes House before next year. I am handquilting it and it was fun doing that again. Have not been handquilting for a long time. Before Bjørg came today I manage to sew together block number five of Butterfly Garden. There is a lot of applique and stitching on this block.
And on my train trip to sweden I mangage to finish the last two blocks for Gail Pans Sewing Angels. And today I sewed them all together. Another quilt I want to handquilt.
Another old project I finished yesterday, and it took me only 15 minutes to finish it. I guess you all have a lot of "almost-finished-just-need-a-few-more-stitches"-projects. Now I just have to get it framed. I got the Ikea frames both for this stitchery and the other Leanne stitchery I made one year ago...............GOSH..........one year ago...............I really have to get them framed now and up on the wall LOL
I also finished the stitcheries for the workshop next weekend. Hanne is coming to me next friday and saturday she is giving the workshop in our local quiltshop making the makeup bag I showed you two posts ago. I really look forward to her visit and her workshop.
So this weekend have really been productive. I am so happy. Perhaps time starts to calm down now. It has been so hectic the last two months. Where have august and september gone??? Already oct 12th and christmas is approaching very fast.
Saying for today:
October's the month
When the smallest breeze
Gives us a shower
Of autumn leaves.
Bonfires and pumpkins,
Leaves sailing down -
October is red
And golden and brown.

You sure have a lot to show in your post and I have thoroughly enjoyed looking. The chicken embroidery is my favorite as I am a chicken collector.
