Applecore and quilt trip

001

Always fun to have a visitor in my sewingroom

002

Hanne had brought me Sue Daleys pattern and templates for making applecore.

004

That is one shape I have not liked to sew because of the shape.  Long time when I tried it I struggled hated sewing it.  But now I had agreed to give it a try again.  I know Hanne have felt the same way with this shape.

005

But after reading the pattern and tried doing it the Sue Daley way we both were smiling from ear to ear.  The Sue Daley way is soooooooooo easy………….and fun.  You should all try it!!! Thank you Sue for making it fun to sew.

007

This is what we sewed together this weekend (among eating, chatting and going on a quilt trip).  Mine is the “ordinary” scrappy applecore to the right.  Hanne made a beautiful version of some tiles she have taken photo of earlier this year.

011

And while having a emtpy quiet house last night I did a layout of all my applecores, added some new and I think this will be a lovely pillow.  I have pinned them to the ironing mat and hope Rusken understand this is no toy for him to play with.

008

We also went on a little quilt trip yesterday.  Kreative Ingema was so kind to open she shop for us even on a Sunday.  She also gave us a little demonstration of a new ruler.

009

This is a cute little shop with a very nice shop owner.  We’ll be back soon.

Saying for today:

Your apple cores look lovely. It must be wonderful to have a friend like Hanne close enough to visit.

I have recently bought the apple core template and papers but not the pattern - they were out of stock at the time. I am very tempted to have a go now after seeing the lovely job you have made with your templates. By the way, I love your scrappy colours too.

Sue got me hooked on hexies - looks like I'm going to have to give apple cores a try too! Love the colors you used.

Congrats on your apple cores. I had to smile at your Winnie pic. My children had blocks with this as one of the pictures they could make. E H Shepherd was such a lovely illustrator.

How nice that the shop opened for you.
