Antique Sampler progress

001

The last days I have appliqued the outher border for my Antique Sampler.  And today all four sides was ready and I sewed it on.  And as you see I have company while sewing in my sewingroom.  Love watching (read: hearing) series, movies and shows on my computer.  Or I just turn on the radio to listen to music.

002

I even mitred the corners. It was easy to do and it looks good.

003

Appliqued the leafs in each corner.  Of course Rusken had to supervise it all.

005

And voila……my Antique Sapmpler top is done.  Just in time to bring it to Tønsberg and show it to Sue.  This quilt was a little challenge for me, because there is so much blue fabrics.  My plan was to make a blue and brown quilt, but as you see a lot of red and pink has sneaked into it. I kind of like it, but I think it has to grow on me.  I have started to collect blue fabrics now and have challenged myself to use more blue fabric in my quilts.  Because every time I see other quilters using blue fabrics I think it is so beautiful.  But still my favorite colour is RED.

Saying for today:

It looks lovely May. It also made me chuckle a lot when you talked about trying to include more blue. My favorite color is red - just like you - but so many of my quilts seem to turn out blue!!!!!

Isn't it funny! I agree with you, I love all the blue quilts I see, and I have lots of blue fabrics, but I always use red/pink, yellow and green in my quilts :D

Well done for another lovely quilt. I think you must be Sue's star student, she will be very impressed.

Well Done. Your quilt looks great. You have been busy. I am like you I don't use blue either. Lovely quilt.
