Today I finished the quilting of my basket quilt. I am doing a happy dance right now. I had never thought I could finish it so fast because I have handquilted the whole quilt. But with hours quilting and watching old movies on the tv I did it.
The binding is on and now I just have to sew it down. And I haaaaaaaaate sewing down bindings. But I hope I get it done (at least most of it) until thursday when I am meeting Sue again.
But for today, because my shoulder is now hurting after all this quilting, I will relax doing some needleturn on my Antique Sampler quilt.

Oh May - it is beautiful. I bought the pattern and template at a quilt show last month so that one is on my list. Congratulations on another beautiful quilt. I hope the binding stitches down really fast!

Oh May, it is just beautiful! I have watched this all along and I must say I think you finished it in record time. It would have taken me a great deal longer. Great job and if I lived an ocean or two closer, I'd finish the binding for you because that is my favorite part-hand stitching the binding.
I can't believe you have finished that quilt so quickly! I love the handstitrching part of binding, so you can send it down to me if you like. I don't guarantee I'll send it back though hehehehe. I love it! May, "queen of quilting".

I looovvveee sewing the binding down. I find it relaxing. Just don't like the hole in my finger the needle makes! I can't wear a thimble. Love your work May & I love following your blog.

One must look at hand quilting like the old saying "How does one eat an elephant?" Once bite at a time. How does one hand quilt a big quilt? A little bit at a time. Well done for persevering so well and finishing the job.
