Leannes House and The One project a month Challenge

The last days I have been quilting on my Leannes House.  And I have finished all quilting on the blocks.  004 I have a lot of templates for quilt borders and today I tried to find one that will be perfect for the border around this quilt.

005Some of the borders were to wide, some too small, some too busy for this quilt.  Want one that wonæt steal the attention to the quilt.

006

So these are the two that I think will suit this quilt.  There is a lot of hearts on the quilt and I will have hearts in the border.  But which one???  Please help me to choose. Number 1 with the big hearts or number 2 which is smaller??

003

Yesterday I got a new book in the mailbox.  I had ordered the new Tilda book some days ago and I am very pleased with it.  A lot of cute things to make from this one.  And the best is that my DD also love these books, so perhaps it will inspire her too want sewing.

One Project a month challenge

It has been so fun receiveing so many lovely mails from you ladies that have joined this challenge.  Looks like we have pushed a button.  And you have all been so eager to finish something.  That’s great.  And you still have some more days to make more finishes.

Royalty-free Clip Art: Elderly Seamstress Woman Sewing A Dress

Just rememeber to list the finished project in the monthly list and send a report to me or Kris.   All finishes that are listed in the monthly list jan 31th will count as a lottery ticket in the january finish lottery.  Kris is hosting the prize for january.  And please send a final report to Kris so she can register you in her lists.

How many finishes do you think we have for january month???

When we started this challenge we had no idea that so many would join.  We appriciate it so much and there have been a lot of new blogs to visit for me.  And there have been several no bloggers that have now started their own blog.  So if you have time you should visit the ladies on our challenge list and see all the lovely projects they have finished.

I have not updated my list (compared it to Kris’s) but will do it very soon.  So there might me some on Kris’s list that are not on mine, but you will be there soon :)

Kris and I are going to close signing up for this challenge jan 31th.

That is a tough question, but I think I like the first one better. I like the way the loops look with the hearts. Can't wait to see the finished quilt, it is already beautiful!

Your Leanne's House looks so beautiful! I'n not done with one block yet, but I just got inspired by your quilt to continue:o)
I love the borders you did choose. I have one of them myself, and I love the simple heart border.
I just have to finish my projects for the challenge first now:o) Almost there...
Happy sewing!

Lovely blog and lovely quilt too. I definitively prefer border # 2, the first one looks too big to me. Ciao from Roma

That's so great that you've almost finished quilting your Leanne's House quilt! It is so beautiful, May Britt! I personally would go for the larger hearts, just because the fabric print is small and I think it looks better! Ha! Just kidding, they both look good! Have fun deciding!!

Sorry, but I have to say, I cannot choose one, they are both perfect and so I can´t help you :-) but I will look forward to see which one you chooosed in the end.
The quilt is soooooo wonderful! So much work.
I hope it´s okay, that I reported my two finished objects for january to you today. I think not, that I am able to finish one more this month so I told you today what I´ve finished. And Kris is not able to look at my blog, because in cause of the german language google sended to her she couldn´t take my invitation for reading the blog.
I wish you a wonderful sunday evening full of time for border quilting!
Many greetings

I think both would work for the border, but the 1st one with the larger hearts I like the best. I am sure you will pick the best one to complement your quilt.

Your Leanne's House Quilt is charming. I bring in the border #1 for your quilt, bigger hearts - as you have such one yourself :)

I think I would choose the big hearts, so number 1. I love your quilt. It is very beautiful.

I love your scrappy border on the Leeanne's House quilt...wish I had done that with mine! I also love the larger hearts for your quilting...I think they are more whimsical which adds to the delight of the quilt!

I would choose the smaller hearts.

Jeg er bare vild med quilteskabelon 2. Den er yndig og detaljeret ganske som quilten! Glæder mig til at se det færdige resultat.

That is so pretty! I love both the hearts but like the bigger one better.

hi may, curious, when do you need the register in?--ie., we are doing a sew-in that last weekend, and I hope to bring a few projects to a close on the 30/31 of January. Assuming you expect lists the first week of Feb, but is ther a cutoff?
love the house quilt; I chose first template.
Have a good day!

Oh, I like both but I think I like the little hearts more. How do you go about making the material with the pattern???? I have a few patterns I have collected and not sure what to use.

Your quilt looks great. Looking forward to see it finished.

Comfort Cove Designs said...

I like the smaller hearts myself. I can't really tell from the photo, but I think you might miss some of the quilting when the binding goes one. Or is there room??

That looks like a gorgeous quilt! I hope we get to see the full photo of the finished quilt when it is done!

I need to finish my Leanne's House quilt - but I still have a few blocks to do too. Your quilt is lovely. I have finished 3 projects this month - just loving this challenge.

SharonZ said...

Beautiful quilt! I'd choose the smaller heart pattern for the borders. I think the larger one would just be too big. But whichever one you choose, the quilt will be gorgeous!

FrugalFive said...

Both would look great, but i think the bigger heart will work better on this quilt. The quilt looks gorgeous!

Joy said...

Your quilt is stunning, you've done a beautiful job May Britt :o)!!! Both of the borders you've picked would look great but I think I prefer #1, the larger hearts.
That Tilda book looks really good, I must keep an eye out for that one ... any idea what the title would be in English??
Can't wait to see your finished quilt!!
Hugs,
Joy :o)

I like number 1, the smaller hearts seem to compete with the quilt top, whereas the bigger ones still allow the quilt top to be the centre of attention.

Jantine said...

I would go for the bigger hearts! There size are more like the hearts in your quilt!

Pink Feather Paradise said...

Hi, What a beautiful quilt, I prefer the smaller hearts (#2) as they alow for a little bit more space either side so that they are framed! but I am no quilter so I might have got it wrong!lol

Have a couple projects on the go but I will have to wait and see if I get the time to finish them for this month!

Hey May Britt! Your Butterfly Garden quilt looks GORGEOUS!! I love this pattern and have been so tempted to sign up for it somewhere, but keep reminding myself that I should be FINISHING things, not starting! Tee! Hee! Hee! I think I'd go with the smaller hearts, but both would work well. That Tilda book looks like a lot of fun - shame they're not easy to get in Australia - then again, it might be a good thing for my budget! :0) Have updated my list tonight, so should be up to date now - PHEW! Catch up soon - Bear Hugs! KRIS

It's beautiful, May Britt - I like #1, as well. Enjoy!

How exciting that you are in the quilting phase of this quilt! It is beautiful. I can see why you aren't sure about the border, both look great. Maybe it will depend on how much quilting you do. If there is a huge amount of quilting, the smaller hearts might work well. If there isn't, then the big hearts. Well, that was a big help, huh? LOL
Thanks for letting us know about a new Tilda book. I found out about her through you and have 4 of her books in English. I can't wait for a new one. I've made several things and I love her work. suz

Keep up the good work you do. It keeps the blogging quilters together.

Your Leanne's House looks lovely! It reminds me I must get mine out and do some more although it is a bit hot here at the moment. I like them both but probably prefer no 1 the large hearts.

Do you have a pattern for the angel on your banner? I think it is so cute.

What a lovely quilt!!!
I prefer the small hearts because it makes the border more a border instead of another part of the quilt. I hope yuo understand what I mean because I do realize my English is not that good.
By the way, I also love your web log and I'll keep on following it; it inspires me and makes me feel good.
greetings from Holland,
