My weekend at the cabin.... part one

I am back from my quilt reatret. Is has been a very nice weekend with good friends. Some had already been there several days when the rest of us arrived. And they had made us a nice dinner when we came. And after the dinner I was ready to sew. Two of seven had brought with us the sewingmachine. The others was sewing by hand. As I did when I was going to relax from the sewingmachine. Here is me to the left and Liv Randi to the right. Ready, steady, sew....

My project this weekend. I was making a lapquilt called "Garden Path" from the book Flowering quilts by Kim Shaefer. Here I have made som blocks I am playing with now. Of cours I had forgotten to cut the pink fabric I should use in this quilt. (As I told you before leaving....even if I brought a lot of things with me, I was going to miss something). But some of the others rescued me, they had some pink fabric.

Mitt prosjekt denne helgen.

We took time to a coffebreak outside in the sun. Then I brought my handquilting, and I finished one of my ufo's.

Some of us even relaxed a bit more in the sun. Here is Irene on her new summerquilt.

Noen av oss slappet litt mer av enn andre. Her er Irene på sitt nye sommerteppe.

Whats going on here????? Something interesting???? And some keeps the distance of it.....why???

Hva er det som skjer her???? Noe interessant??????

It was only our little houspet this weekend. A very agressiv "little" caterpillar.

Here are me, Aud and Irene preapering for saturdays big dinner. We have a tradition eating steak of elk with cheese and cream gratinated potatoes. And we eat, and eat, and eat........

And we eat and laugh. We always have a great time together. We are friends who share the same hobby. er er Liv Randi, Aud og Kjerstin. And the age is from the youngest who is 32 and the oldest who is 80. My mother used to join us at this weekends, she was also an eager quilter. She was the oldest one. But now she lives in an old peoples home (not sure of the english name) and have almost forgotten how to quilt. I miss her so at our quiltreatreats. But that's life.

Irene is showing her bowtie quilt made of only Roberta Horton fabrics. She has quilted on it for several years now.

I can't post more photos under this title now. The blog refuses to show them. Have to write a weekend at the cabin part two.

Thanks so much for the photos of your retreat. It looks like you all had a marvelous time. Retreating with quilty friends is the best time there is in my opinion. My husband usually isn't nearly as much fun as my quilting friends LOL!

It's so interesting seeing others enjoy their quilt time. Your group looks wonderful! You got the name right- old folks home or nursing home. Sorry your mom is there but they are good at taking care of them when they need help.

All the fun and quilts look fabulous! Can'tr wait to get to part 2. I don't know why it wouldn't let you put more pictures in?
