I found this cute old christmas cards on the net.
The first one shows a norwegian "santa" (nisse) and the second one some birds. I love these old cards.
I also found this link on Christmas in Norway which tells a little bit about traditions in Norway.
This evening I will place my advent table runners on the table, hang the advent star in the window and place the advent candles in the windows.
I wish you all a very happy and peacful advent.

It always makes my heart warm when my daughter insists on holding to a tradition just as it always has -- there is just something so comforting to the holidays when you do the same things, have the same meals . . .
Thanks for sharing the wonderful pictures of the quilts your friends made.
Looks as though you are getting a start on the holiday season.......
Lovely Advent Calendar - it's a true tradition for your daughter! :-)
I'm anxious to read about Christmas in Norway - thank you for providing the link.
I took my family Advent calendar to college with me...unfortunately, it did not survive the many moves after that!
Lovely that your daughter still has an advent calendar at her age.
And to you! I love your daughter's attitude. I wouldn't want to give up that great advent calendar either. =)
Happy Advent to you as well. What a great Advent calendar your daughter has. Those cards are great too.
it's nice to see that even as our children get older they still like to keep to the traditions. Our two DDs are like that also.
That is a lovely advent calender you made for your daughter. Thanks for the links. I have enjoyed reading about Christmas in Norway.
Thank you for the links to Christmas in Norway. I'm always interested in learning more about Norwegian customs. My husband's great grandparents came to the US from Norway. He even knows how to make lefse!
I think family traditions are the best! I miss our holiday traditions with both my boys away from home although Adam has promised to bake some Christmas cookies for his dad this year. We would start baking cookies the first of December and bake all month long. Adam moved out on his own last November so I really missed baking cookies with him last year.
