Quilt templates

I can't believe it is over a week since my last post. But I have not been up to much sewing lately. Thanks for all the mails I have received from several of you asking how I am. I'm still home from work and I'm going to the physio"torturist" three times a week. She is really "torturing" me so I am not feeling so good after seeing her. But I know it will help. And I have been to the hospital and now they will take some more x-rays and a MR to see what's wrong with my shoulder. And they are talking about surgery. So now I just have to wait and see.

I have been trying to organize my sewing room these days. And I have found all my templates around in my sewingroom. I'm a collector on quilt templates. I counted them and in this pile I got 64 different quilt templates!!!! Does anyone else collect templates???? I am so fond of handquilting and when I see a new border I have to have it :)

I got snowmen, cats and a sewing template.

And these three is among my favorites. But I have many of them. And still many I have not used yet. I try to buy templates with a corner. That makes it easier to do a nice border around my quilt.

I will try to do some stitchery this weekend. A little bit handsewing is therapy for a grumphy soul. And I feel I have been a bit grumphy these days. Have a nice weekend everyone.

Saying for today:

A cat's purr: Most effective
stress medicine known

I had a knee replacement last summer and had to have physical therapy 3 times a week for months. It was torture and it wore me out so I know how you feel. Good luck.

Oh yes - I collect templates! I have a bunch I've not used too. Someday!

Sure hope you get good news from the doctor - surgery is certainly not something to have to look forward to.

thanks for the lovely comment you left on my blog. Hope you are feeling better soon and the torture isn't too awful! Lucy

Hi, nice to see you are still with us! Don't like the sound of your shoulder being so bad that they are thinking about surgery! Hope it will be better soon!!!

And I don't have a single template, would you believe that??? I usually do straight lines and stippling of "in the ditch"... Have to think about widening my repertoire :o)

Wishing you a great weekend! Take care!

I have a very sore shoulder too, darn it all! I'm not brave enough to go the Dr. though.

DH has to even hook my bra! lol

Have been missing you, checking in every day to see if you're ok.

I used to have a lot of templates but during one of my slumps, they got sent to the Goodwill store so someone else could enjoy them.
Hope that physical therapy helps some and soon.

I hope your shoulder get better without surgery. But my husband just had shoulder surgery in January and he is recovering well and says that he is able to do quite a few things now without the pain he used to have all the time. So he is quite happy he had the surgery.

I have a few templates. Most of the ones I collect are for doing blocks.

I still can't quite figure out how to use the border templates so they fit my borders nicely. They always seem to not quite be the right sizes.

I have a bunch of quilting templates but not as many as you. I have used some of them for machine quilting. I hope your shoulder improves.

I don't have a single template...I wouldn't know how to use it...are they easy??

Glad to see you're feeling well enough to work in your sewing room, and hope the torture is over soon! Nice collection!

Hope your shoulder improves soon May Britt. I know many people who have had the surgery with great results.
I have a drawer full of templates, only a few of which have been used!

Oh, I hurt for you! Take care of yourself.

That is a wonderful collection of templates. Perfect for the talented handquilter that you are.

I absolutly agree with your quote. I sincerely hope that you don't need a surgery. I think you are a very busy lady and you must have some patience and slow down to have a quicker recover.
Love all your templates but the one with the cats took my breath away.

Nope - no collecting of quilt templates, but I do have some that I have used many times. Yours are lovely.
I guess I would own more if the selections in the shops were better though :-)

Sending pain reducing thoughts your way May Britt!

First thing I do when I visit a quilt shop I've never been to before... I check out the templates (and I too like a good corner as well). What a nice collection you have, and especially the snowmen!

Hoping you get good news about your shoulder. :o)

mhfI should be asleep but the pain in my shoulder wakes me...it's only 4.20am. I had a cortizone injection at then end of last year and the docter said, I'll see you back here in six months to see about surgery. I was so cross that his words are becoming true. I am too scared to go back to the doctor but I must. I have a friend who has had surgery and she was back at work very soon with excellent results. I'll get brave, I think I'll go sometime in the next week, the pain is making me a grumpy soul too! I need to do some sewing I think.....

I just bought two different sizes of baptist fan templates in Paducah last month. I love the look of the quilts being done on LA machinesusing this pattern, so I'm going to try it by hand.

Sorry you are still not well, great chance for a clean-up but I'm sure you would prefer less clean and a better shoulder. 63 templates, fantastic and I can see those corner ones would be great. My favourite is the sewing one-go figure! Get better soon, Tracey

The template collection! I've got one, too, and I've never used a single one of them! LOL

Don't be scared of the surgery. I suffered for 4.5 years before I gave in and agreed to the replacement. I am 100% recovered back to pre-injury status. Just wish I had done it much earlier instead of being in pain all the time.

(Hugs)

I hope they can fix your shoulder without surgery, but if its necessary, I hope you can still hand stitch or quilt while recovering! I have a lot of quilting templates, but I don't think there are 64. =)

I hope you are feeling better, and hope you don't have to have the surgery. I have a few templates, and enjoy looking at them, but mostly when I quilt, I try to do something that won't require marking, so the templates aren't used very often. I did have a friend comment on how often a particular design (from a template) keeps showing up on my quilts, so maybe it is time to get another one.

What a great collection of templates~you have more than my local quilt shops!!

Get better soon!

I'm so sorry to hear that you're having trouble with your shoulder! I hope you get it sorted out! Meanwhile, I love your saying. In the U.S. June is national adopt-a-cat month, so I've had cats on the brain lately! Thanks! ~A :-)
