I have finished the stitchery on my new baking cover, and this is the pattern you can win. And I was so lucky that I won a small bundle of lovely pink and brown fabrics on our quilt guild meeting last thursday. I am going to use these on the border around this baking cover.
You remember Bente stitching on her baking cover while visiting me this weekend. She finished it. This is also a great idea for you to make a baking cover for yourself. Just a piece of linen or soft cotton fabric like a tea towel with stitchery on.

Cakes are big here (yet I love baking breads!!!!......family may not always like my combinations!!! lol). I remember baking with my nan and she had these gorgeous hand stitched covers.......not sure who got or where they went but Ive not seen them since BUT I have her aprons and I love them, cook wearing them and remember the great times we had baking together xxxx
I've always used a clean tea towel over my baking and my favourite is scones. MMmm so yummy when they're still warm with jam and whipped cream!

We always put a tea towel over scones to soften the outside. I only bake cakes when I have visitors but I bake a loaf of bread every two days. I love the idea of the covers, they have some lovely stitcheries on them.
You never know, you might just start a new trend around the world for your lovely Scandinavian baking cloths. They look great.
Ill admit it took me some reading to figure out what a baking cover was! Ive done a bunch of quick breads and love holiday cookies but never anything with yeast that needs to rise so never needed to cover it! But these are darling, and Id end up using as a dresser scarf. When I use a baking cove rit's typically with breads, more so than cakes. I recently psoted about another new recipe that I tried and now is one of my favorites, buttery sage crescent rolls. Perfect with our thanksgiving and harvest recipes!

I enjoy making breads! But, I have a recipe from my Aunt for cookies I will post because she always brings them for Christmas. Thanks for your giveaway and I really like the baking cloth.
What a beautiful custom! I didn't know it at all. I usually use a towel of flax which my mum made on her frame. But this weekend I stitched my own baking cover for all the bakeries I prepare for my whole family!
Ps. A challenge is like an hot chilly pepper- makes the life spicier!
I like all kinds of baking - bars are probably my favorite, but I bake bread a few times a week - and I use a tea towel to let the bread rise.
I also love the idea of stitched cloths - so much more beautiful.

I agree, this will certainly be a new trend around the world. Here in Norway it has been tradition for generations, I think. I hope my sister can find something from our parents, who are now gone, I would love to have something from them. Meantime I will make one myself, look at the pattern on my blog post. And of course, I would love to win the pattern from Northern Quilts!
