A little of this and a little of that

012

Decided to start prepping som happy travel project for an upcoming travel in november.  Some time ago I started to sew This Goes With That hexagons (design Sue Daley) in red/pink/light fabrics.  Restarted it in blue/brown/light colours, but did not feel happy with those blocks.  Thought some time that I should start it over again in those colours in the box to the right. Hanne is doing this quilt in those fabrics.

013

But as I already had made 9 blocks in red/pink/light colours,,,,,

014

I chose to continue prepping i red/pink/light colours.  And I feel happy with it. You all know red is my favorite colour.

029

More prepped blocks ready to come with me on the plane in 39 days.  Prepped like this in small plasticbags it is so easy to bring along and just sew whenever I want.  And I will prepp more blocks + another easy to do applique project too.

016

Just 78 days to Christmas and I hope I can have this quilt finished to hang it on my wall for this Christmas.  The four center blocks are done and sewed together.

018

And in the last weeks I have stitched the snowflake blocks and appliqued the heartblocks so now I was ready to sew on the outer borders.

030

Just a couple of hours sewing the borders was on the quilt

031

The Scandinavian Christmas quilt (design Lynette Anderson) is now ready to be basted and quilted.

020

I’ve also done some progess on sewing the hexagons for my Aunt Sarahs quilt together.  Rusken had to take a close look at them and think he approved the colours.

Saying for today:

Your Scandinavian Christmas is gorgeous, it will be lovely to have it ready for Christmas. All those bags of prepped stitching look very satisfying.

Hand pieceing is so easy to take with you and make some progress on a project. IT is going to look lovely. Love the Christmas quilt , and, ofcourse, Rusken. Sooo typical of any cat.

Your Scandinavian Christmas is lovely. I hope to make the same quilt (some day :-). Funny to see that I own at least 4 of the same fabrics that you are using for "This goes with that". Greetings for The Netherlans.
