Weekend at the cabin

Doesn't this look yummy. Waffels out in the sun was delicious. Autumn is starting to come in Norway and when the weather was so lovely as this weekend we had to enjoy every minute of it out in the sun.
Nine good friends at the cabin. This was the 10th time we are having our quilt weekend together.

All the others brought a lot of sewing, but I had to relax my arm. So this is the way I've been sitting all weekend. Relaxing in a chair, with my arm on a pillow, looking at the others and wanting to SEW!!!!!!!!!!
But I know my time of sewing will come. Soon I hope. The arm is stiff and I have not so much strength in it. Not so much pain but I guess that's because of the painkillers. I'm off to the physiotherapist tomorrow.
The others did a lot of sewing. Some new projekts was started and a lot of "old" projekts was finished (like bindings, quilting aso)

What's so interesting here?????
I told everyone to find their bags and exhibit them out on the stairs. And we counted to 26 items. Divided on nine ladies :) A real quiltlady has more than one handmade bag.
Saying for today:
What is a friend? I will tell you....
it is someone with whom you dare to be yourself.

Hi! Looks like you had a wonderful time, even though you still aren't able to sew! We really have to treasure the hours we get of sun before fall and winter. The ladies really stitched up some great things! I love the pic of the stitcheries - with the shadows of three eager people with cameras standing around to get the best shot *lol*. And all those bags... WOW!!!
Take care! Hugs!

Your photos make me wish that I had been with you this weekend. Sounds like you had a wonderful time, even if you couldn't sew.

It looks like a perfect weekend for sewing and for friends too. I'm sure you enjoyed yourself, even though it must be hard to watch others sew and not take up the needle yourself.

How funny you took a photograph of the bags. DH was just saying to me the other day that quilters love their tote bags. So many wonderful projects being worked, good friends and good food - what a terrific weekend.

Looks like such a fun weekend and a good way for you to be near all the sewing while still resting up from your surgery . . . you'll have a needle in your hand again before you know it *s*

Loved looking at all the handmade bags. Your right we all have lots of them.
Hope your feeling better. It isn't fair that you had to sit there watching while everyone was sewing. But at least you were with good friends.

I bet you were a most excellent cheerleader for those who WERE sewing and they were happy for your company. Lovely spot for a retreat with friends.

Good to see you looking pretty good!! My husband had to wear a very bulky sling for 4 weeks. Lucky you didn't have to do that! Looks like a fun weekend --- what a fantastic bunch of bags - you all should be proud!!

Ser ut som dere hadde en hyggelig produktiv helg, og jeg gjetter at du fikk fylt opp med masse q-vitaminer mens du heiet på de som sydde.

Hello May Britt. Good to see you and hear from you. It looks so wonderful, your being together, that must have eased the pain a bit of not being able to sew (yet!). Such a lot of beautiful photos. I love the red wooden cottage. We have been to Dalarna in Sweden about 25 years ago and it reminds me of that holiday!

It's nice to have you back. I've checked your blog everyday and I knew you had surgery. I'm glad you are on your way to being 100% again, but it must have been agony being around all that sewing and not being able to do it yourself. Thanks for sharing your fun weekend with all of us. I loved looking at all the pictures and finished projects. They were stunning.

That's a lot of bags. I need to get busy so I can be among the serious quilters who have homemade bags. I've been inspired by bags I've seen and have all ready got my fabric bought for one. I just need to sew it up. Take care of yourself, so you can be back into sewing full swing.

It must have been torture to sit there and not sew. But what a lovely place and such fine company to relax in. Love all the pictures, especially the one of all the bags, I couldn't stop smiling over that one.

Yum I love waffles, and I can't believe how organised that lady is making the pyramid quilt. All those pieces precut and stacked in little piles. It doesn't happen that way around here! Hope you will soon be sewing May Britt. This must be torture for you.
