Shopping

Yesterday was the time for some shopping.
And of course it has to be quilt shopping.

First quiltshop to be visited was Lydias Quiltshop in Vennesla.

A lovely quiltshop where I bought some pink and green fabrics. And look at those cute spools they had. I regret not buying more of these.

Always so nice to visit this quiltshop. They have a lot of own designed patterns and this time I bought a cute romantic table topper pattern and just two green fabrics.
And still we have some more quiltshops to visit,
but that will be another day

Summer vacation

Finally I'm having my summer vacation. And tuesday I got on the bus to go to Grimstad to visit my dear friend Nancy.
The weather was so nice on tuesday. We sat outside in the sun stitching, and I had of course forgotten my sunglasses back home. so that's why I have that grin on my face. A little bit difficult to stitch with the sun in my eyes.
But today after som nice hours in the sun the clouds started to show up. And then a big thunderstorm made us run inside in the house again.

And the rain poured down.

Then it was time to get some serious blogging and blog reading done.
Here is Nancy in action.
I have still some more days to spend here,
and I hope the sun will start to shine again soon.
But if not, Nancy and I have no problems what to do.
She has a great sewingroom.

Rainy day = sewing day

Last week have been crazy hectic. That's why no blogpost from me. Hectic at work preparing ready to take summer vacation. And hectic at home too. Today is my first summervacation day, but I am going to work today. Having this day off later when I need it.

First a finish:
One week ago I was invited to my childhood friend to celebrate her 50th birthday and I know she always appriciate something made by me. So this is what I gave her. I have had it almost finshed for a while (read: years), I just had to put the binding on and voilà..........the perfect gift for my friend.

Looooooooong time since I won a giveaway, but this week to packages arrived in my mailbox. Jippiiiiiiii, finally some goodies in my mailbox instead of bills. I'm so happy.
Over at Lyn (Moor patchwork and quilting) I won a wonderful pattern.
And Mona sent me these wonderful romantic fabrics, buttons, thread and a cute Huggets pattern.

Thank you both for picking my name in your giveaways.

I am soon (after my summervacation) going to have a giveaway too, celebrating my 3 years as a blogger.

And what does a quilter do when the rain is pouring down outside. She spend her day in the sewingroom. Saturday was a wonderful evening and my friend Irene and I sat out on the porch until after midnight, chatting and sewing and having a great time together. But sunday.......rain rain rain rain, and it's still raining. Of course.......my summervacation have started.

I have finished another block in my "oldemors fotoalbum" (granny's photoalbum). I now have just 3 more blocks to finish before I start putting it together. So I think I start like Hanne, to focus on just a few projects on my summer vacation.

I also spent a lot of time in my sewingroom this weekend, preparing the 3 first blocks on the Gingham Girls BOM.
And I have been playing with my idea for the Stitchers Angels projects this weekend. My roses are traced on the fabric and I will start to stitch it really soon :) Sneak peak.........not yet :)

A hot weekend

There has been a very very hot week and this weekend my friend Irene and I went to her cabin to relax and hoping for a little swim in the lake. First we went to the lake nearby her cabin, but when we walked out into the water it was sooooooooooooo freezing cold. We were told there had been 24 C in the water, but this time I guessed it was not warmer than 14 C. As one of the sunbaders on the beach said....there was thin ice on the water. Disapointed, because we did not dear to swim in the water, we went back to the cabin............still hot .

But then we thought of the river running nearby her cabin. Perhaps try for a bath there. And so we did............and the water was so warm. Not very deep, but we was able to chill off the heat. We went back into the water early this morning even though it was only 15 C in the air and starting to rain........(norwegian vikings LOL)

Today when driving home from the cabin we drove by Laila for a little visit. And of course we had to have an inspection in her sewingroom. I am so happy I'm not the only one with a lot of projects. We get new ideas all the time.

New ideas, new projects...............I started on a new one this weekend too. Leanne Beasleys new pattern in Homespun. I was so lucky that someone sendt me the pattern and I love it. Leanne is visiting Norway in september, but I am so busy this month so I will not be able to attend to her workshops in Trondheim. I wish I could.

June OPAM Winner

This evening I have been visiting blogs that has not reported finishes to me. Thanks to all of you that has reported, that makes my work easier. But it is always fun to visit your blog. Sorry that I do not leave a comment, but there are so many to look through. And I want to publish the winner tonight.

One thing I have noticed visiting all the OPAM blogs. There is actually 23 blogs that has removed the badge. I guess that means you do not want to participate anymore. Some ladies have mailed me and Kris and told they want to leave the challenge, thank you for telling us.

But the rest of you have done a faboulous job with finishing projects. Even though a lot of you have no finshes this month the total amount of finishes is 397. That's great. And I have already noticed july finishes listed in the sidebar.

And this is what I have to give the winner of JUNE OPAM

One pattern from Crabapple Hill (I love their patterns)
and a fat quarter of rose fabric.

And the winner is:

Please send me your adress and I'll put your prize in the mail for you.

And to all of you others
I wish you all a creative July
