Autumn House

I have finished the first block of Bunny Hill's Autumn House BOM. Well, almost finished. I just have to stitch AUTUMN at the right side of the house. But I want to do it in Norwegian. Anne offered to write HØST (the norwegian word for autumn) for me :) That is so kind of her.

And now I have started to prepare the next block. I love the fabrics and colours in this BOM. And all those cute houses Anne has drawn.

I've also been working on march block of Bunny Hills free BOM A tisket, A tasket today. The next block is soon coming and I want to have this one finished before april block comes.

AND REMEMBER TO REPORT YOUR MARCH FINISHES IN THE OPAM CHALLENGE.
Kris is giving away this months prize.

Earth hour

Right now I have turned off all the lights in my house. Just burning candles (and my computer).
All over the world the lights will be turned off to support the earth hour. This gives time to reflections. We have to take care of our world. And we have to care for eachother.

Bag galore

Visiting a quiltshow you always see women carrying bags. I had my camera ready and took a lot of photos of some of the bags I saw during last weekend. And this is only a small part of all the bags I saw. The women were hurrying so fast (perhaps to visit the shops) so they had no time to stand still so I could take photos of their bags. And I was also so busy all weekend so there is a lot of wonderful bags I do not have photos of. All owners of these bags have given me permission to show the photos on my blog.

So let's go
Bags galore
enjoy the photos and get inspired

Do you now want to make a new bag right away???
I do :)

A wonderful quilt

I still have more to show you from the annual quiltmeeting. Like this wonderful quilt made of Sølvi Krokeide. I got her permission to show this quilt on my blog. She got 3rd prize in open cathegory. And she also got the prize for best handwork, the boards favorite and perhaps the best prize of all, visitors favorite.
The quilt has so many details from a quilt festival. From when you enter the festival, get your registration tickets, visit the quiltshow, the shops aso. The best part is that you can recognize a lot of people in it. Sølvi has been a boardmember in the Norwegian quilt association and she had captured a lot of us other boardmembers in action at the quilt. We all had a good laugh when we found ourselfs at the quilt.

I'm one of the persons in this section. Sitting on the floor sewing with a glass of red wine besides me. Nancy is sitting in the chair also having a glass of red wine in her hands.

The annual meeting.

There is always lectures at the quilt festival.

Show and tell.

I guess this has to be from the rest area where the ladies rest out after shopping.

Workshop

Quilt exhibition

The entrance and registration.

And of course the shop.
Congratulations to Sølvi Krokeide(no blogger).
You deserves all your prizez
because this is such a wonderful quilt.
And todays saying is to you.
Because I know you have had a lot of fun making this quilt
thinking of all the people you have sewn into the quilt.

I'm back

It has been four hectic but fun days at the annual meeting in the Norwegian Quilt Association. Bout 300 registrated members and 400 daily visitors. All over the hotel you could see and hear happy ladies with their beutiful bags. I had brought my new bag to the meeting and it was a success. Never have so many ladies stopped me asking...."are you abyquilt " and "look at that bag".

A lot of shops had brought their fabrics, books, patterns and notions. Will give you a lot of photos from the shopearea later. Just have to sort them first.

Did I buy something?????????????

Of course!!!!!!!!!!! Has there ever been a quiltlady to a quiltfestival not buying anything??????

This is the goodies that came home with me. I had to buy the new wool stitchery batting. It feel so soft and I talked to several ladies that had tried this already and it was wonderful they told me. So I look forward to try it. A piece of new thin habalon batting for a new bag. Two kits that I just had to have. One yard of wonderful lace with small buttons on. And of course some fabric.

And I could not resist this new BOM "Autumn Houses" from Bunny Hilll design. I bought it from the shop Quiltefryd , (just discovered that they have their own blog). She is sending the two first blocks in the mail today, so I will soon be working on these BOM too. I just loved the fabrics and colours in this BOM.............a must have project.

Now I am unpacking my bags and repacking them again. Would rather stay home now because I am so tired of hotels and hotelfood, but I am going away for some days on a conference at work. See you soon with more photos from the quilt festival.
