Stitchers Angel

This morning I got a mail from Theresa telling me she had received my Stitchers Angels surprises for her. And this is what I made for her:

One big and one small purse with stitchery on. And I thought she had to have a pincushion too. I added a stitcherykit and a box of applique pins in the package too. It has been fun making these items for her and now I can start commenting on her blog.

And I am so curious what my Stitchers Angel are making for me :) Surprises/mailbox joys are always so fun to receive.

Saying for today:

because when you give one,
you get one right back your way.

A new project

Like I really needed a new project.

But when Homespun magazine vol 10.10 came in my mailbox I fell in love with Lynette Andersons design "Sweet Summer Song". And now I have started stitching on it.

When I saw the photo in Homespun I noticed it was a fiddle on the photo. That's why I also have a fiddle in my photo. My grandfather made this fiddle and I can remember him playing on it. He even tried to teach me how to do it, but the only song I manage to play was "twinkle twinkle little star...." But I am so happy to have his fiddle hanging on my wall.

I have another reason to start this project too. Next monday (nov 2nd) I am going to meet Lynette in Oslo. While she and her husband is visiting Oslo, she is giving a workshop and a trunkshow at Kathrines quiltestue, and I am going there together with Hanne. I am soooo looking forward to this meeting.

Frida cat loves to sit/stand by my kitchen window to watch cat-tv. My neighbour have started to feed the birds and Frida enjoys watching them. And she is so happy with all my flowers in the window so that she can hide behind them.

My little helper

Today I have had very good company in my sewingroom. Frida is always together with me while I am sewing. Usually she is sleeping behind the sewingmachine on her quilt on the table. But today she found a new sleeping place. Down in the drawer together with my batting. And take a look at my friend Nancy's little helper too. Cat's are so funny.
This week I have focused on the Bunny Hill BOM "A tisket A tasket 12 months of basket". And I am so happy I've finished block 6 and 7. And block 8, 9 and 10 have all pieces ready to be appliqued. So I continue sewing on these blocks this week too.

And I am so happy the gifts for my Stitchers Angel Friend is finished and I will post it tomorrow. Hope she enjoys what I have made for her. Can't show you yet what I made for her as I know I am on her blog list :) So when she have opened her package I will show you.
Now I will start sewing on the SSCS gift.

A little bit of sewing

October cat finished.
And I have started stitching on july cat as a bonus.
The presents for my secret Stitchers Angel friend is almost finished. So just a little sneak peak. And I know exactly what to put as extra surprises. I have read her blog and know what she likes to do.

I am so behind on Bunny Hills "A tisket, a tasket" basket BOM. So the last evenings I have been preparing all pieces for the blocks. I have almost finished block six, so this week/weekend I will concentrate on just these blocks.
And little bit of stitchery................will be boooooooring just to work on only one project. I got several stitcheries traced on fabric.................but what is in my mind now is to start a christmas stitchery.

Christmas mystery part 2

This morning Nina posted part 2 of her christmas mystery. We are going to make two stitcheries. She had some suggestions, but we are free to make what we want.

And these stars is what I am stitching on this evening.

A christmas challenge part one

I have joined 9na's smutthull's christmas challenge, and the first task today was to prepare the things we need the next days.

(first photo on the blog with my new camera)
And here is my box with red and white fabrics,
my favorite embroidery needles (Bohin embroidery nr 9),
my favorite red DMC 816 (I use it always for my redwork)
and I can't stitch without my favorite embroidery hoop
and stitching I have to have my favorite stitching batting
and ooooppsss.........
what's that cat doing there.....
It will keep my needles and thread sewing on this project
Looking forward to see what's next clue tomorrow.

Some of my birthdaygifts

I was such a lucky girl receiving
wonderful birthdaygifts from my friends.
Just look at these photos.

Yesterday I used my gift certificates to buy a new camera.
And it is PINK :)
I look forward to take some photos with this now!!!!!
Now I will try to recover from a BIG cold I got this week.
Guess some stitching will be good medicine for me now.

Saying for today:

If you want to cry, I'll be your shoulder.
If you want a hug, I'll be your pillow.
If you need to be happy, I'll be your smile.
But anytime you need a friend, I'll just be me.

A wonderful gift

Now the BIG party is over and almost all guests are gone home. I had a wonderful time with my friends yesterday. When I read my horoscope saturday morning I got a little bit "scared". The horoscope told this:

Translated to english (sort of): "You have to take a lot of unexpected things today, and you will get a little bit unsecure because you have not had the time to plan it. Never the less you will just do good from this, let yourself loose. Dare to laugh of yourself"

Så what to expect :)

A lot of fun surprises from my friends. Speaches, songs, games and just a lot of laughter.

The horoscope came true......indeed :)

One of the wonderful surprises was a quilt made from friends all over the world.

I LOVE THIS QUILT

Look at all these wonderful leaves.

Made by:

and Bente, Britt S, Britt E and Bjørg (no bloggers)

Merete has done some wonderful quilting on it.

I am told there still are some blocks on their way, but they did not arrive in time to be a part of this quilt. But when they come to me I will make something from them.
THANK YOU SO MUCH DEAR FRIENDS
FOR SEWING THESE BLOCKS FOR ME

LOVE YOU!!!!

The quilt is now hanging over my favorite sewing chair
and I will treasure it for ever.

Saying for today:

Friends are the most
important ingredient
in this recipe of life
