A visit to the quilt shops

Friday morning the shops started to set up their shops in the "shopping street". A total of 21 shops had loaded their cars and hangers with sewingmachines, fabrics, books, patterns and everything a quilter wants. Some hectic hours before the "shopping street" could open.

Several shops had been visiting Ikea on their trip.

A lot of wonderful quilts was to be hung up.

And this is how the shopping street looked like some hours before the opening :)

And in the last minute they finished the last things on their shop and the doors could open for all the shopping hungry ladies. Just enjoy a trip down the shopping street with me :

I did not manage to take a photo of all the shops, but you agree with me that there was a lot of temptations. And when I take a closer look at these photos I see a lot of things I did not see earlier :)

Tomorrow I will start showing you photos from the exhibition.

Saying for today:

Whoever said money can't buy happiness
simply didn't know where to go shopping.

My meeting with Yoko Saito

During these hectic days at the annual quilt meeting I have had the honor to meet Yoko Saito.

I have been a great admire of her books and pattern, and I am so happy I now got a chance to meet her. She is a wonderful lady, always smiling and even if she does not speak so much I talked to her through the interpreter. I got the chance to join her class a few hours, and learned so much about her way to work.

She had three quilts with her to show on our exhibition. Three absolutely stunning quilts. Just take a look at all the tiny details on them.

Last day of the annual meeting today, and I have a lot of photos to show you now.

I love this little spring stitchery which says "spring is in the air". And know I will make more of this little cute stitchery. All registered ladies that comes to annual quilt meeting this weekend will get this stitchery pattern in their goodiebag :)

Long time no blogging :)

Gosh...it is two weeks since my last post. I have been so busy this two weeks. Next weekend we are going to our annual quilt meeting in the Norwegian Quilt Association. A lot of planning to get the best for all the ladies who are comming. So there has been a lot of mailing between us in charge of the event.

One of the things I am in charge of is all the things that's going to be in the "goodie-bag" all the registered ladies will get.
Since I am so lucky to see the goodies in advance, I have already tested one of the "goodies". Will show you later this weekend, because it still have to be a secret.

Some ordered goodies also arrived in my mailbox.

And finally I can make this pillow. I bought this pattern while Lynette visited Norway, and I have waited for so long to get the fabrics for it. So when it starts to calm down, I will start making this pillow.

I also finished another secret today. Hanne, Bente (no blogger) and I have a challenge going on. I was the first one to make the challenge. They got a cute button and some ribbon and was told to make a little quilt 8 x 8 inches. And next weekend we will meet and reveal our small quilts, and then I will show you.

I have also done some sloooooooow work on my Bread and Butter quilt. Just one row and the corners to finish.

I really look forward to easter with some days home from work. Hope to get a lot of sewing done. And I promise to blog more often :)

But first our annual quilt meeting.
Almost 400 quilt ladies together a whole weekend.
A lot of quilts in our exhibition
A lot of quiltshops to spend money in
Meeting good friends
Meeting new friends
Meeting Yoko Saito
A lot of inspiration
A lot of laughter

Saying for today:

The time to relax is when you don't have time for it.
