Vitamin Q is Anni Downs

Yesterday was a day filled with vitamin Q.  Finally I got to meet Anni Downs. She is one of my favorite Australian designers and I have loved her patter for a long long time.  And of course when Kathrine announced that Anni was coming I had come.  And I was one of the lucky one to attend to Anni’s class.

This is the cute tablerunner we was going to start sewing.  I love it.

Anni is a great teacher and it was fun to watch and learn how she was doing her needleturn applique.

The pattern for these two small projects was a little gift from Anni to all of us that joined the workshop.

My houses are lined up and ready to be appliqued down.  Did not do so much because of my bad arm.  It was just fun to be there.

As always Kathrine brings almost the whole shop to these events. 
And of course a lot of Anni’s models and patters was focus.

Later this thursday Anni was going to have a Show and Tell.  About 170 ladies came  so  you can just imagine there was a high level of laughing and chatting.

First there was a show and tell for Annie. She is a very popular designer here in Norway and several ladies had brought quilts made from her pattern.  Sorry I was not able to take photos of those.
Then there was Anni’s turn to tell about her quilting life.  Just enjoy the photos:

Saying for today;

Just a little of this and a little of that

And that is exactly what it has been…..a LITTLE of this and a LITTLE of that.  My arm is still not good and I have had a bad cold the last week.  So things have been done veeeeeeeeeery slowly the last week.

Last weekend I was together with some friends at another cabin trip. Because of my bad arm I just brought a little bit of sewing with me.  Had to take care of my arm, but I wanted to do a little bit sewing. Thought machine sewing would be ok this time.  So I brought with me fabric to sew a few blocks for my new project.  I got this book from Hanne for my birthday last september and I loved this quilt at once I saw it.  When visiting the Back Door Quilt in Indianapolis I saw the quilt and bought a lot of fabrics for it.  Now it was time to start sewing this quilt.

During the weekend I was able to sew six blocks.  So you understand I really did take care of my arm and just relaxed.

During this week I have sewn some more blocks and this is how my design wall…..eh design doors looks like now.  Still some more blocks to sew.

Just a little bit needleturn this week.

and a little bit quilting on this quilt.

But I have been reading a lot of wonderful books, and when this book came in my mailbox I was sold.  Love this book and the quilt on the front page.

and I love baskets……

and I love circles. 

I just have to be patient and take it slowly to heal my arm.  But I am not patient.  There is so much I want to do and to sew !!!!  But I will be a clever girl now and take it slooooooowly.
