Tour de Fibre–My TdF prize

Day 19:

Have you all guessed who the visitor coming today was.  Hanne of course.  We are going to have some quality time in the sewingroom this weekend.

But first, like last year, we have had a Tour de Fibre prize ceremony.  A little bit to early as Tour de France and Tour de Fibre still has some days left before reaching the final finish line, but both Hanne and I was so curious. 

Hannes prize from me to her is to the left, and my prize from Hanne to the right.

Look at the cute heart she had chrocet and decorated the paper bag with.  I noticed it a her blog yesterday and commented that it was so lovely.  I had no idea then that she had made it for me.  Love it.

And this is myTdF prize.  I am so doing a happy dance now looking through this lovely book.   I also got a spatula, and a wine pump topper to put on a opened wine bottle.  The last item in this prize package is shown in a photo further down. Thank you Hanne for this wonderful Tour de Fibre prize.

All I can say is that when I fixed her prize it was one for her and one for me on several items………..all items in fact.  Like this cute box.  And when I made the bird coin purse yesterday I did not make only one, I made two LOL

Hanne and I have enjoyed someVitamin Q time and a glass of Baileys in the sewingroom today, both doing some needle turn.   On this photo you can see the last prize item.  Look at this cute  owl suitcase.  Perfect to store my owl applique project.

Tour de Fibre–Relaxing

Day 18:

I have not spendt so much time in the sewingroom today.  Cleaning the house for the weekend visitor coming tomorrow and just been relaxing with a good book.  My neck is hurting after all the machine quilting the last days, so now I have to learn to take pauses in between my machine quilting.

But no day without sewing………

so I finished this little bird coin purse.  It is a pattern in Natalie Birds Red Home book.  It is very small, but easy to sew.  Love it.

And now I have another binding to sew down.

Tour de Fibre–Sunshine

Day 17:

Woke up to a sunny summerday.  After so many days/weeks with rain it was so good to be able to sit out on the porch.  My body and mind really longed for this.

With my feet up on the chair, sewing down bindings I have had a great day out on the porch.

And now I have a lot of finishes to show you

One daisy flower tablecloth and 11 mugrugs.

A new pillow (for myself I think)

I also finished my Angel Story Quilt.

A lot of these finishes is for the marked in august. 

I guess what LOL .  Another binding ready to be sewn on the Chicken Soup quilt.

Day 16:

While organizing my sewing room another WISP appeard in a box.  Many years ago this pattern came and I started to sew it at once.

When I found it i the box, it was already basted and I had started to handquilt it.  I had handquilted around all the chicks, but now I unpicked it and started to machinquilt it instead.

The colours I have used in this is the colours I loved many years ago, but they are perhaps not the colours I would have chosen today.  So why not play a little with machinquilting and see how it turnes out.

And I have a lot of finishes today, but have to show them tomorrow.

Tour de Fibre–organizing

Day 15:

Having summerholiday means relaxing and I think Rusken likes it very much having me home the whole day. 

Like this morning when he was helping me to check out your blogposts.  He loves sitting besides the computer and somethimes he even try to write walks on the keyboard.

Having summer vacation means that I have time to do things I have delayed for a long time.  Like organizing my sewing space.  I have looked through boxes, paperbags, drawers and shelfs and organized.

All the sewing the last weeks months had made my sewingroom a total mess.  And I got inspired of all bloggers that showed their organized sewingrooms.  I really needed a organized sewingspace now, especially since I am getting a visitor on thursday.  Could not let her see the mess I had in my sewingroom.  Guess who’s coming for a visit LOL

Some fabrics that I do not like, some old projects that I never will finish and old patterns that I never will sew ended in the trashcan.  And I do not regret it at all. 

But doing this I also found some treasures.  Things I had forgotten all about and those are now safe in boxes.  This block suddenly appeard among some papers.  It did not go into the project it was ment for, but I think it is beautiful.  I also found some squares among other fabrics. 

I started to sew the fabrics together

and voila, in just 30 minutes I had finished this pillow top.  The backing is in the washing machine so I have to finish the pillow tomorrow.

Tour de Fibre–Scraps and more bindings

Day 14:

Yesterday I got a mail from Anne Heidi telling me I had won her giveaway.   She was going to giveaway some leftover scraps from a project.

And today a BIG envelope came in my mailbox.

WOW…..look at all these scraps. Those are BIG scraps.  It is Lynettes Scandinavian Christmas fabrics, and I am so happy right now. I am stitching on Scandinavian Christmas and these fabrics will fit perfect in this quilt, together with the red I already have found.  Thank you Anne Heidi for sharing these scraps with me.  It is at treasure for me.

All of you who know me knows that I hate to sew down bindings.  I am still sewing down the bindings on all the mugrugs, and today I finished the Angel Among Us quilt and that means…………….……
ANOTHER BINDING TO SEW DOWN.

Day 13:

Last day at work and now I have started my summer holiday.  Three weeks just relaxing, sewing, meeting family and friends.

Today I have tested a new pattern.  Bridget’s Bagettes is the name and you can se it here.

An easy pattern to follow.  Not so used sewing with clear vinyl, but I guess when I have sewed a few more of these I understand the trick to get it nice.

I sewed the largest one and in it I can store my rotary cutter,

or my scissor

or even my passport when I am going on vacation.
Love this little bag and will sew some more soon.

But now it is time for SYTYCD (So You Think You Can Dance) season 9.  Love to watch this show.  A glass of redwine and A LOT of bindings to stitch down.

Tour de Fibre–Happy sewing

Day 12:

Today I found this photo on facebook, and I remembered Hannes post about sewingmachines need of tender, love and care (TLC). 

And my sewingmachine really needed some TLC.  Having done a lot of sewing lately, I have been so busy that I have forgotten to clean it.  And I started to hear some strange noices.   So today I gave my dear sewingmachine some TLC

and a new needle.  Now it is sewing like it was new. 

I advice you all to give your sewingmachine some TLC today.

Tour de Fibre–Applique

Day11:

I guess you are bored seeing all these daisies day after day LOL. But I am on a roll with them right now.

Everyone that knows me, knows that I love to do needleturn applique and I hate doing buttonhole applique by hand.  But the daisies on these projects are appliqued by machine.   It looks okey, and it is much more faster to do than needleturn applique.  And sometimes I have to produce.  Like now when I am making things for our marked in august. One set for me and one set (or two) for the marked. 

Todays progress:  All applique done on the tablecloth and 11 mugrugs.  Tablecloth and 3 mugrugs ready to get their binding.  8 mugrugs waiting to be quilted.

Tour de Fibre–Still got the blues

Day 10:

Have not watched Tour de France in several days so I have no idea what’s going on there.  Just a few days more at work and then I start my three week summer holiday.

But Tour de Fibre is inspiring me to sew and sew and sew.

After coming home from work today I have relaxed in the sewingroom.  What else to do when the rain is pouring down. 
Still working with my blue fabrics and daisies.  Sewing another table cloth with some matching mugrugs.

Day 9:

What to do on a rainy day?  Going on a quilt trip with good friends.  We started to drive early this morning, and we knew exactly where to go to find vitamin Q.  Want to join us on our quilt trip?

Of course I had to stitch a little bit in the backseat of the car.

And the other two where knitting  and doing som EEP.

First stop was at Lappemakeriet.  Love this shop and I found some treasures here.

And there we met Hanne. She wanted to join us on the rest of our quilt trip this day.

At Lappemakeriet there was a small exhibition by a longarmquilter called Anne Rønningen. 

Next stop was Kathrines Quiltestue.

It is a wonderful quiltshop with a lot of fabrics of my choice. 
Found even more treasures here.

And so did the other ladies too LOL

Feels SO GOOD to walk around in the quiltshop Play with colours, finding treasures, get inspired……………..just being there is a lot of vitamin Q and I really needed it now.

In this shop there is a lot of beautiful quilts on the walls.

This is one of my favorite quiltshops, and I know I will be back soon.  My DD and DS is now both living in Oslo, and I know which bus to take to visit this shop.

We also visited Stoff og Stil (another fabric shop) and Ikea, but no photos here.

My buyings at Lappemakeriet. The two fabric on the top is for a secret project. And I look forward to try the EEP for a 10 inch dresden plate.

And by buyings at Kathrines Quiltestue.  So happy I found that linen to the left.  Will be perfect background for some tablerunners and pillows. I was doing a happy dance when I found my favorite red fabric.  The red one with dots on.  And of course more backgrounds for stitchery. 

Finally my buyings at Stoff og Stil.  Found a lovely linen with roses on (the one in the middle) that will be perfect as backing for some pillows I am going to make.  The one to the left is going to be a pillow for my DD.

Hanne had brought me the thread she had bought for me some weeks ago. Love this thread and now I have a lot of colours to play with.

This has been a wonderful day together with good friends.
