I was lucky to come on some quiet moments to take photos of the shops. But I can tell you there was so crowded some times so that you could hardly move around. As you see from the photos there was a lot of inspiration in these shops. I will give a big hug to all the quiltshops who loaded up their cars and drove hours to bring all these goodies to the annual meeting.

Another blogposte from the annual quiltmeeting will come in a day or two.

The Norwegian Quilt Associations annual quilt meeting 2012–part 1

Just came home from a wonderful long weekend in Bergen where the annual quilt meeting in NQF was this weekend.  Days filled with inspiration, shops, quilt shows and good friends.  About 450 quilters in one hotel, several of quiltshops (among those my favorites) Have about 200 photos on my camera that I have to look through, so I guess there will be a lot of posts the next days.

A lot of shopping.  My intention was just to buy a border fabric for my Annas Veggteppe.  Seems that there was a lot of temptations in the quiltshops.  It felt SO good to just walk around in the shops to get inspiration, touch fabrics and to buy fabrics.  I guess you all know that feeling.

196

Look at these yummy cupcakes I received as a thank you from NQF.

I want to give all the ladies who attended at the annual quilt meeting a big  hug.   It is always so fun to meet old friends, and to make new friends.  What a great weekend we’ve had.

If you visit NQF you can see the quilts that won the competition + a lot of other things that happened this weekend.

And I will be back with more posts ……………

Weekend with friends

001

Breakfast at the cabin.  Together with four other quilting friends I have had a great weekend, and stitching while eating breakfast is so relaxing.

009

This time I had it all planned.  Projects was put in boxes.  Almost every piece was rotary cutted and ready to be sewed together.

010

Easy just to sit down and start sewing all the pieces together.  I sewed the top for 12 pair of potholders.    Boooooooring to sew all these squares.

008

More fun to sew the star blocks for this wall quilt.  Now I have to find the perfect fabric for the outher border.  Will bring it with me when I visit the Norwegian Quilt Associations annual meeting next weekend.  Hope one of the shops there will have the perfect fabric.

Vitamin Q visit

024

Yesterday Hanne came over for a visit.  And I really needed some vitamin Q inspiration now.  Just chatting, laughing and playing with fabrics felt so great.  And eating sun buns too.

026

I finished my first block for Scandinavian Christmas, and have found some red, beige and brown fabric to make the churn dash blocks.

027

Today we have been sitting in my sewingroom all day.  Hanne stitching on her Scandinavian Christmas block.

029

And I picking fabrics for the star blocks in Annas veggteppe.

030

With Hannes help I manage to find the colours I want in this quilt.  And I started to rotary cut the blocks, sewed a couple too.

031

Rusken really enjoyed being there together with us.

I need good sewing light

001

Rusken and I have been relaxing this evening. My neck is not good so I staying away from the sewingmachine for a while.

002

Been stitching on the first block for Scandinavian Christmas. I love this block and it makes me smle.

But dear Rusken, I really need to have the OttLite on to see my stitches.

A lot done during the weekend

006007009010

Yesterday I packed a big bag full of quilt tops, batting and backings. Going to the canteen at my work I planned to baste a lot of quilts.  Big tables makes it easy to baste.  If I had done it at home I would have been crawling around at the floor.  My friend Bjørg also came over and basted some of her big quilts. Now I have five quilts ready to be quilted.  And I am going to machine quilt every one of them.

011

Was a little bit scared starting to machin quilt my Summer Blooms, but I am quite pleased with how it have turned out during the day.  Soon I will try to make more swirls on my quilting.

015

When Rusken has not been outdoors in the snow and sunshine, he have joined me in the sewingroom.  But I guess he thinks I have been making to much noice today, with sewingmachine buzzing all day.

016

Now I have only the outher border left to quilt. It has been so fun quilting today, but I feel it in my shoulder now.

017

So the rest of the evening I will just relax ,watching tv and stitching on my new project Scandinavian Christmas.

Big plans for the weekend

002

The sun is shining so lovely today.  I have spring feelings and that made me buy these lovely tulips.  I love tulips.

I have big plans for the weekend.

003

In my mailbox today was an envelope with pre printed stitcheryblocks for the Scandinavian Christmas quilt.   Thank you both Hanne and Grethe.  Guess this means I am in sewing this along with you.  Already found some fabrics to match the linen.

004

Fabric every where in my sewingroom.  On the sewing table was the fabric for Scandinavian Christmas, and when I turn around there is fabric for my Annas Veggteppe on display on my ironing board.  Not yet desided which one to use.    Hopefully I manage to find the fabrics I want to use during the weekend.

005

Also lying on the ironing board is my Summer Garden.  Hope I get it basted this wekeend so that I can start machin quilting it.

006

And when I turn around to the left I find this angel pillow that just need to be sewn together.

Not to mention if I turn even more to the left, I have a pile of half done projects.

So this is going to be a very busy weekend in the sewingroom.

Enjoy your sewing weekend too.

Relaxing weekend

Saturday morning I put some sewing in a bag and drove up to my friend Irene’s cabin.  Two days just relaxing and sewing.    A great way to celebrate mothers day.

006

Coming home again Rusken was very curious what I have been doing these days.  He had to inspect every seam.

008

My summer blooms is now ready for basting and quilting.

009

And i finished the bird row for this quilt.  I have traced the birdhouse stitchery to have as an “On the go”stitchery.

have others on your side.
